Former Duke College Republicans Vice Chair Faces Child Porn Charges

A Duke senior has been charged with obtaining and possessing child pornography, the Duke Chronicle reports.

Cliff Satell, the former-vice chair of the Duke College Republicans, was arrested in April of last year on five counts of second-degree exploitation of a minor and five counts of third-degree exploitation of a minor. According to the Chronicle, Satell had in his possession "digital videos of preteen and teen boys engaging in sexual acts."

Satell formerly made headlines in September, when former College Republicans Chapter Chair Justin Robinette accused the group of discriminating against him due to his sexuality. Satell and Robinette presented the Duke Student Senate with several incendiary e-mails to support Robinette's case.

Satell is due to appear in court next month.
