Report: NFL Player Accused Of Providing $3,300 To UNC Players

The University of North Carolina reportedly accused former Tar Heel and current New York Giants receiver Hakeem Nicks of providing improper benefits to players at the school on Thursday.

According to a press release from the school, the benefits include "gifts of cash and jewelry and impermissible assistance with lodging, travel, transportation and entertainment expenses."

Nicks was reportedly one of five people named and allegedly gave current Tar Heel players a total of $3,300.

The school was also said to have accused former players Omar Brown and Mahlon Carey of giving money.

Vernon Davis, San Francisco 49ers tight end, was also named in the report. Davis allegedly provided $20.

The university discovered the violations while conducting a different investigation involving players accepting benefits from agents.
