Jeff Bridges Promotes 'No Kid Hungry' Campaign (VIDEO)

Academy Award winner Jeff Bridges appeared Thursday on CBS's Washington Unplugged to talk about childhood hunger in the United States, which he described as a "solvable" problem for which Americans should be ashamed.

Bridges, who's advocated to end childhood hunger since 1983, has teamed up with nonprofit Share Our Strength to launch this week the No Kid Hungry campaign.

As its spokesperson, Bridges discussed on CBS the obstacles which No Kid Hungry faces:

"There is a billion dollars that is allocated to different states for meal programs that are not being used...It would help prevent kids from suffering from hunger but it would also bring all this money to the state for their economy."
