Kathleen Parker: I Led Media Assassination Of Sarah Palin

CNN host Kathleen Parker and conservative filmmaker John Zeigler argued Thursday night on CNN's "Parker Spitzer" about the media's coverage of President Obama and Sarah Palin, leading to Parker's declaration that she "led" the media "assassination" of Palin during the 2008 presidential campaign.

After accusing Parker, a conservative opinion columnist for the Washington Post, of falling for Obama during the 2008 election, Ziegler than claimed that she "took part in the assassination of Sarah Palin."

"Actually, I did not take part in it. I led it. OK?" Parker shot back.

Parker defended her September 26, 2008 column in which she wrote that Palin was not ready for the Vice Presidency.

"On September 26, 2008, I said that she was out of her league and I have rested my case so many times, I don't need to bring that up again," she told Ziegler. "I will agree with you that some people in the media came after her in a vicious, cruel and unfair way. I was not one of them."

Parker, who began the interview by telling Ziegler she had a "tingle up [her] leg" having him on the show, would go on to call him "just ridiculous" as he accused her of endorsing Obama and saying she "used to be a conservative" before joining CNN.

After a commercial break, Ziegler would make a crack about the show's ratings.

"If I was worried about ratings, I wouldn't be going on this show," he said.
