Paul Pierce Mocks LeBron James With Postgame Tweet

First Posted: 11/12/10 10:03 AM ET Updated: 05/25/11 07:10 PM ET

After the Boston Celtics defeated the Miami Heat in American Airlines Arena on Thursday night, Celtics star Paul Pierce mocked LeBron James and "The Decision" via twitter.

"It's been a pleasure to bring my talents to south beach now on to Memphis," Pierce tweeted.

When James announced his decision to leave the Cleveland Cavaliers and sign with the Heat on a one-hour special on ESPN, he said "I'm going to take my talents to South Beach and join the Miami Heat."

James has been widely criticized for his decision by former players, fans and comedians.

Lebron deserves to be picked on a bit. Ego maniacs need to be brought down a few notches.

It's so sad that a professional competition has to degrade to this level of racial bigotry. Any criticism or mocking of Lebron James, being that he is an African American, must have a significant racial element. It is sad that Paul Pierce has forced society back to the days of Jim Crowe. We now have no choice but to admit that every human being on the planet is criticizing Lebron James because they are racists. It's very sad.

I see nothing wrong with Lebron changing teams, all of you are just upset that he didnt go to your teams :-), for me its great i still remember being at the parade in 2006 and am looking forward to this years parade. They still have to learn how to play together they are a new team. Watch next time we play Boston it will be a blow out.

Glad he`s not on my team .Don`t want 4 guys standing around watching on guy run isolations. Of course the fact that my Celtics beat him at home and away, whoever he plays for probably has a lot to do with that.

Where is the fun in NBA?

All the heavy weights are residing in 3 teams, may be 4. So what are the other teams playing for?

IMHO, College football, NFL and NHL are a pleasure to watch. You never know till the end who is going to make it and who is not.

If you have to watch basketball, watch March Madness.

I love the Celtics this year. Their off court antics are hilarious.

I like C's too, if they can stay healthy for the remainder of the year they'll be good.

At one point this season LeBron will crush the Punk Pierce like a grape which he has in the past. Pierce is a bitter two bit nothing.

I know that it's very early in the season, but the season has begun. Games played matter. Especially in your own conference. The Heat better start living up to all that dancing and fanfare that they had in July. I've watched a couple of games and the commentators spend a lot of time trying to make the play of the Heat not appear as off as it is. Fast forward to the end of the season, start of playoffs, the Heat get knocked out or not even make it, that'll be a sight to see.

Pierce was just having fun of course but, if the roles were reversed, you'd all be ranting and raving about how poor of a sport Lebron is.

Cohesive units arent formed instantaneously. The Heat will have to be tweaked. Most of you know this yet still go on and on about how bad this is working out. It may take another season and a half to really gel together and get all the right pieces. Lebron at 25 isnt in as big of a rush as those who complain about what he hasnt done yet.

The funny thing is you are seeing the real unselfish player Lebron really is. He's much more like Magic than Jordan. That was just the role he was forced to play in Cleveland.
He will average 10 assist as a Heat player when his career is over.

Please dont be a cornball and tell me that he's no Magic because Magic has rings. Thats obvious. I'm strictly talking about basketball IQ, court vision and passing skills.

"Cohesive units arent formed instantaneously."

Duh!

It was Lebron who said they were going to win 7 championships. Remember?

Cherry picking I see. Dont really have a comeback for that....... no comeback for that one........ nope not that one either............ Oh here's one " Cohesive units arent formed intantaneously." I'm gonna say Duh!

It's obviously hasnt reached Duh status if people are calling them a bust and say it's not gonna work.

I never heard Lebron say they will win 7. Dont confuse this with me saying he never said it, I simply didnt hear it.

What does not jelling now have to do with winning 7 rings? Did you give him a 7 year time limit? If so since they probably wont win it all this year, Lebron should consider himself an absolute failure. He should hang his head when he walks because the Heat wont be winning 7 titles in 7 years.
07:03 PM on 11/13/2010
I'm just hoping that the Celtics knock out the Heat in the first round of the playoffs this year. Nothing would bring me more joy then seeing the three big bonus babies have to eat humble pie after they worked so hard to game the system so they could cakewalk themselves into a championship ring.

It doesn't even make sense since Lebron scored more points than him, 35 vs. 25. Allen could have made that joke, but PP? Funny, indeed :-)

HE FAILED TA HIT "ONE" KEY SHOT ......PTS. MEAN ZIP...WINNING AND RINGS .
07:47 PM on 11/13/2010
you have to realize its Lebron so the majority opinion on HP is to be critical of his every move. Lebron could average a triple-double with 30 points a game and if he didn't win the NBA title, people would still be critical...and even if he did win the title people will say its because he had Dwyane Wade
08:36 PM on 11/13/2010
Your right I would say that because D wade knows how to win one and Lebron doesnt. He had his chance and what happen swept lol. He is a joke Lebron james has potential to be great but he never will be if he stayed in miami he would be remembered as the coward who could win it on his own. I would have more respect for him if he won in Cleveland.
