The Most Shocking Statements From Alleged Foreclosure 'Robo-Signers' (VIDEO)

The Huffington Post     First Posted: 11/13/10 09:22 AM ET   Updated: 05/25/11 07:10 PM ET

In more than two hours of video footage recently uploaded to YouTube, three alleged "robo signers" describe how they approved thousands of mortgage documents a day without reading them.

Robo-signing is the latest ugly turn in the ongoing mortgage mess. Banks and loan servicers appear to have illegally processed countless documents in the rush to foreclose. The scandal has spawned a host a host of lawsuits, including a Federal racketeering lawsuit brought against Bank of America and a wave of investigations by 50 state attorneys general.

The three employees of Nationwide Title Clearing -- notary Crystal Moore, "signer in charge" Bryan Bly and witness Dhurata Doko -- gave depositions to lawyer Christopher Forrest, reports the St. Petersburg Times. Their testimony presents a detailed and often shocking portrait of the assembly-line like process for approving documents.

The employees admit they didn't read the thousands of documents they signed daily, and they betray ignorance of key aspects of the mortgage industry. In some cases, according to the testimony, their signatures were affixed to documents without their knowledge.

One employee admits he doesn't know how many companies he had signed for as a vice president. Another suggests she doesn't know anything at all about the mortgage industry. And the third says she didn't know exactly what she was authorized to do on behalf of her employer -- her job was, simply, to "sign the documents."

Check out the most shocking statements from this latest round of alleged 'robo-signers. Each video will skip ahead to the referenced clip. (Hat tip to Credit Writedowns and 4ClosureFraud for posting these videos before they were widely circulated.)

"Do you know specifically what you're authorized to do for City Residential Lending?"
"Just sign the documents."

"Why did you sign this document indicating that your address was in California if that in fact was not your address?"

You are violating a court issued injunction by publishing these depositions or any comments from them. Forget about the First Amendment...this must all be suppressed. Seriously, there is an injunction...the banks want this information suppressed. www.mattweidnerlaw.com

It's on you tube. It's everywhere. It is not surpressed and can't be now. Sure the banks may want this supressed. But it is not, and I and others will fight to keep this in the public eye.

If there really is an injunction against publishing these depositions, then good for HuffPo, because as a homeowner activist for some time now I know we need this. This PROOF, since they won't believe us!

PREVENTION IS KEY.

I once had dinner with a wealthy man who was opening up a bank. I asked him why he chose that business and to my astonishment he replied "It's the easiest, legal way to steal". The arrogance and truth of his statement was chilling...

Do we even address the a second part of the problem which is the current state of american corporate culture.

Everyone in the workforce knows that if your boss is telling you to do something like this, you better do it or take the very likely risk that you will be fired or otherwise drummed out and branded a troublemaker to all possible future employers. "Play along or pay the price"

One of the most rewarding things about this epic battle that is the foreclosure fight is meeting homeowners and other advocates who are standing up and fighting for themselves and fighting for the heart and soul of our courthouses. Our courts, our judges, our way of life is being transformed right before our eyes as real people are going into our courthouses and fighting for their homes and their own families. http://righttocancel.com/
In some ways I'll bet many of the judges appreciate seeing real people in their courtrooms. For decades judges have slaved away, largely in obscurity with only other lawyers to interact with. Now, they see some real people and hear their stories first hand, not filtered through their lawyers.
We have only seen the tip of the mortgage crisis. The scariest part currently of this crisis is that people are losing hope. The common consensus is "why bother...the bank doesn't care...why should I? I will just go rent." The American dream has gone from aspiring to own your own home to just hoping to keep your home. http://righttocancel.com/
If you feel that you have been a victim of predatory lending practices or are currently facing a foreclosure, contact us today and learn how you can take action against your lender using our proven administrative procedure that has already help so many people fight back against the banks and get resolution! advisor@righttocancel.com Office: 813-321-5114 ad me friend

You commentators should preface your statements with the subject to which you are referring, so readers (if there are any) know what the heck your referring to.

This is why my wife and I choose to rent, instead of buying...it's rather foolish to borrow, with no idea of whom you may owe, or what their; "crook status" may be.

I refinanced by mortgage last month. I made my first payment, and the next day was informed that B of A bought it. It is a 30 year fixed, 4.5 percent. I'm pretty naive about this whole mortage fraud thing what I don't get is WHY banks want to foreclose. Dont they lost money that way. If anyone feels like explaining this to a person who has no clue, I'd appreciate it!

It has to do with how they account for assets. It makes their books look better to the shareholders if they don't have "toxic assets" (the mortgage) and have real assets (your property).

These poor people should sue their employers for abuse. Having your signature electronically produced on a legal document without your permission should be cause for criminal charges.

My mother was almost caught in this scam just before the crash... her mortgage was bought and sold 3 times in two months .. of which they refused to accept payments (kept coming back) .. then came the third month and a notice of non-payment for 6 months! and a foreclosure notice. If it werent for my wealthy grandfather that stepped in at the last min (begrudgingly) and refinanced she would have lost her home.

There was only $20,000 left on the note and after rescuing it she sold the place for $209,000 and left florida for good. There was no help from local officials and she had to fight for her livelihood in a way no-one should have to ... what a joke this country has become.
