13 Awesomely Bad Politician Names (PHOTOS)

Turns out, John Boehner isn't the only one. A politician's image can be made or broken on the level of trust that his or her name conjures up. We Americans like our politicians to be strong, trustworthy and honorable, and the exact right cadence of a leader's name can either inspire us or fill us with doubt and malaise. But no matter how their other qualities, some politicians should have thought twice against using their real name when running for office. Here are some of the most regrettable, confusing, or just awesomely bad political names we could find. Vote for the most ridiculous!

In 1964 Life magazine found a billboard in the NJ 12th Congressional district that had the Republican challanger Wiener sharing space with a hot dog ad. Cute.

Unfortunately the signage for Delaware's Outerbridge Horsy from two hundred years ago is lost. I just like the name.

Our sheriff in Berks County, PA is named Eric Weaknecht. All the campaign signs simply said "WEAKNECHT SHERIFF."

Didn't quite inspire confidence in his moral fortitude. In fact, seems like they were arguing the opposite.

And yet he won the election.

There was a State Legislator in Louisiana when I was growing up named "Shady Wall."
During one Legislative session in the 70's, there were many judges that attended to try to get more money for Court services. The court system was underfunded and in desperate need of more funding for personnel, etc. As these judges were lobbying the legislature, Mr. Wall stood up and said that if they were good judges, they wouldn't be in Baton Rouge lobbying, They would be in their courts doing their jobs. Another Legislature took offense and chastised Mr. Wall for disparaging the fine judges in the great State of Louisiana. Mr. Wall then stood up and said to his colleague, "You are absolutely right and to all of the GOOD judges...I apologize!"
They got their funding.
True Story.

Reminds me of famous race car driver Dick Trickle. Imagine living with that name all your life.

Young Boozer lived across the street from my Aunt in Houston, TX in the 80s. He has a son named Young Boozer Jr. and a daughter Alexis. There were a very nice family.

About 20 years ago we had a Congressional race between Moorehead and Doolittle in northern California. Of course we picked the wrong one and Doolittle was mentioned repeatedly in the Jack Abramhoff scandal. Ah, what could have been.
