Legendary newsman Dan Rather has signed a deal to write a memoir, which will be published in 2012.
The book will be titled "Summing Up." In a statement, Rather -- who was the longtime anchor for the "CBS Evening News" until his acrimonious departure in 2006, and who now has his own show, "Dan Rather Reports," on HDNet -- said, "I just felt the time had come for me to sum up my career in a candid memoir, and now I feel the time is right."
