Donald Trump On Sarah Palin: 'I Like Her, But I'd Take Her On' In 2012 (VIDEO)

Donald Trump President 2012

Real estate mogul Donald Trump says he's thinking about running for president, saying "everybody's ripping off the United States."

Trump tells ABC's George Stephanopoulus in an interview he doesn't actually want to run, but that he's worried about the country's future and thinks he could be the person to stand up to America's rivals. He singled out China for criticism in the interview, accusing Beijing of manipulating its currency to gain unfair advantage of the United States in global trade competition.

He has shown interest in the past in running for president, in both 1988 and 2000. But in the interview, Trump said, "I am thinking about things." He said he expects to decide by June and said he'd likely run as a Republican if he enters the race.

Last month, Trump communicated a similar message on the possibility he'd jump into the 2012 presidential mix.

"I'm totally being serious because I can't stand what's happening to the country," he explained during an appearance on Fox News. "I am being serious about it. I've been asked for years to do it. And I had no interest. This is the first time I am -- at least I'm considering it."

On Thursday's edition of GMA, Trump said "it could be fun" to mount a run for the White House because he'd "like to see some positive things happen for the country." He also spoke out on the possibility of facing off against former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin, who signaled this week she's seriously considering running for president in the next election cycle.

"She's very interesting," explained Trump. "And don't underestimate her. I mean, I see what she does. Do not underestimate Sarah Palin."

He added, "I would take her on. I like her, but I'd take her on."

How trivial. Just because this article mentions Donald and Palin in the same article. Your tunnel vision is working overtime. NOTHING alike.

Did we not learn from Arnold in CA? PLS don't run. I like The Donald's personality and his shows. I admire him for who he is. But a polititian he is not. He should run for mayor of NYC first, sorry NYC, don't know if you like that comment. Stars make better mayors or even congressman. I don't want to lose respect for him if he dabbles in politics. And can you say HUGE tax cuts for the rich?

And as for Palin, you're pretty, we get it. The prettiest girl in Alaska. Stay there.

Arnold's not a billionaire but he's an actor. We've had lots of actors run for office successfully, as well as pageant beauty contest winners. Why NOT try a billionaire? We can't do any worse than we already have. Maybe someone who knows how to operate a successful mega-corporation would be less interested in separating middle america from their hard earned dollars to appease the special interest groups. I hope he runs with Oprah as his VP, it would be an awesome ticket.

I bet most of the people read this article and waited to form their opinion on the idea of a Trump candidacy until they saw what party he was likely to run under.
07:07 AM on 01/05/2011
Everyone already knew what party Trump would run under. It's obvious and he has talked about it numerous times in the past.

Party? Hair? Superstar? So what. If we can do better..who cares.

Whoop-dee-do. Who cares what you think Donald. I will bet the farm that neither Palin or Trump will run for president. I think Donald should consider a new hairstyle before he considers a run for the White House. And while Donald has been very successful, he's also had some big failures. His casino in Atlantic City went bust. How in God's name can a casino go bankrupt? All you need to do in order for a casino to be successful is buy a building, fill it with slot machines, open the doors and get the hell out of the way.

I don't believe for a second that he really likes SP. It wouldn't take but a few moments before he would be pointing at her and exclaiming "You are FIRED!". What a joke.

How about we all declare our candidacy for president. It seems that everyone thinks they have the answer for this country, so let's all start our campaigns now. If he thinks he can take on Sarah, which isn't saying much at all, I would be willing to bet that any of us could take on Sarah.

Sarah doesn't have a damn thing to do with him and how he would be President. Why don't people vote for the best man to do the Job. Not skin color not speeches and certainly not because you like his personality. This is why we are were we at.

I think everybody in the country who has a pulse thinks they could show her up in any meaningful comparison or debate.

Sad state of affairs.

Nope, but he likes the publicity. He is street smart and money smart but not an intellectual or knowledgeable enough in world history, foreign affairs, constitutional law, etc to be president and he knows it.

Chance that Trump runs: less than 1 percent.
