Mike Lee Cut Teeth

MSNBC:

"The Reids were the first real Democrats that I spent a lot of time with," Lee told NBC News, "and I discovered fairly quickly that we didn't agree on almost anything. Any time I tried to defend the actions of the Reagan administration, they'd all jump all over me, so sometimes I like to say I cut my political teeth in the Reid household."

This is not a big shock. both will tow the LDS, or Mormon agenda, as will all the politicians in Utah, until there is a non-mormon elected, which will be decades from now.

The Mormon alliance in Washington is heavy. The good thing is Bennett will be out of politics, although his influence will be felt, The Reid/Bennett/Hatch group can intimidate any president with the influence they yield. It was Reid who shut down investigations into Judge Byebee, because Byebee is also a fellow Mormon. along with Mitchell, Jessen, Deland, McCotter, Kyle Sampson, Flanagan, and a host of others involved in atrocities. They are all hoping for Romney to become president because it will give SLC the ultimate power.

All the candidates running for Bennetts slot were BYU professors, so why should this shock anyone.

The LDS can be varied in their political perceptions although many of them increasingly align themselves with ultra right Christians who confuse conservatism with piety.

Unfortunately, his understanding of the Constitution doesn't appear to include the 200 years worth of interpretation by the Supreme Court. I do believe the Supreme Court and it's role are actually in the "original" Constitution.

Mike Lee envisions himself like James Madison. These are the nuts being elected. Can't wait to see what 2012 digs up

Lee would have a hard time justifying freeing the slaves and allowing women to vote? How Republican of him.

What I never understood about original constructionists is that if the founders wanted the Constitution to be "originally" interpreted, why did they allow for Amendment or, in their own time, encourage judicial interpretation? It strikes me that if anyone has missed the founders' intent it's the origiinalist camp.

Mike Lee's grand vision for drastically reducing the size of federal government includes plans to disband the Departments of Education and Energy as well as that of Housing and Urban Development.

So he wants his constituents to be ignorant, on a horse and homeless?

Don't you have to be ignorant to vote for the likes of this guy?

So, much like Orrin Hatch, Lee finds himself an elected Senator of the only state in the entire freaking Universe that could ever possibly elect him to any position more important that dog-catcher. Utah, the place draws them like flies.
