Top 10 All-Inclusive Beach Resorts (PHOTOS)

How will you ever achieve that perfect full-body tan if your hand is constantly reaching into your pocket? That's why ShermansTravel.com's editors have rounded up a list of 10 great-value, all-inclusive beach resorts in the Caribbean and Mexico, where the focus is on the sun, surf, and sand - not on opening up your wallet. Tallying up all of those "extras" (like meals, tips, cocktails, and activities) can be a real buzzkill on your happy-go-lucky vacation, so why not down at one of these all-inclusive gems instead, where nightly rates start from as little as $124 per person, per night - and never more than $250 - and that's during the winter high season (go in shoulder or low season and snag even better bargains)! After all, that soft sand is no place for hard cash!

Azul Beach Hotel, Puerto Morelos, Mexico
1 of 11
This stylish, small hotel in Puerto Morelos, Mexico offers big-resort amenities with a boutique sensibility. The self-proclaimed “first all-inclusive boutique resort,” Azul, with just 60 rooms, offers sweet respite from its rowdier neighbors in nearby Playa del Carmen and Cancún. All-inclusive rates (which tally in taxes and fees, to boot) include food and drinks (including premium beverages) from four eateries and trio of lounges, champagne at check-in, 24-hour room service, live music and shows, and activities for kids and adults (think yoga classes, not limbo contests). After a morning Spanish class, snag a seaside cabana, and let a “Beach Butler” (he’ll be the one carrying the mineral-water vaporizer) take care of the rest.
Winter rates from $239 per person, per night, based on double occupancy

I've been to many places in Mexico and I'd go back to almost everywhere but Cabo San Lucas. Too many unpleasant experiences, from bars that put Everclear into Margaritas to cab drivers that yell at you for tipping with bills that have a slight tear on the corner. Most of the beaches suck, too.

Why? I don't want all-inclusive. I want to get out, see the world, try different foods, meet people.

They all look fantastic. However, how am I to get there? Neither cruise ships nor airplanes are very attractive modes of transportation. Got any all inclusives in Ocean City - NJ or MD?

I don't understand this fear. That's like someone saying they won't go to California because East L.A. is gang-ridden. Drug related violence in Mexico is in border towns that are far from beaches and resorts. The incident in Alcapulco did not target tourists. (btw, there are much nicer places that Alcapulco).
