Los Angeles Times:

But considering that "[a]bout 25% of the audience for 'Deathly Hallows' was between 18 and 35, compared with 10% for 'Goblet of Fire,' " as our sibling blog Company Town reports, that book sales bump may be in question. It seems that the Harry Potter viewership is aging in parallel to the demographic of those who've already read Harry Potter.

I'm dusting off my old copy of Harry Potter/Deathly Hallows and rereading it, slowly this time to savor it. I polished it off overnight when I first bought it. I like the movies, but the books are much better.

You really, really need to be familiar with the books to begin to follow the movie, The Deathly Hallows: Part 1. Thankfully, I saw the movie with a Harry Potter Fan who filled in and explained the lost pieces of the story - out loud - as we went along the 2 hour and 20 minute journey. And I appreciated it. (I'd bought the tickets!)

There was no story that could be followed in the movie, The Deathly Hallows: Part 1.

(Hope Part 2 of the Deathly Hallows movie brings in some element of story, folks!)

I think that's true with the previous two movies as well. Not sure about the others. It's hard for me to say for sure because I've read all the books, but it often seems like important connections are left out in the name of keeping it under 3 hours.

I kept all my HP books, so I'm obviously not going to go out and buy them again. That said, I hope others younger than me fall in love with the series just like I did as a child. I've got many nieces and nephews to share the books with!
