Fidel Castro: Barack Obama Is 'The Best Snake Charmer' Who Ever Lived

Castro SLAMS Obama: World's 'Best Snake Charmer'

Former Cuban leader Fidel Castro used some colorful language while lashing out in a new article on U.S. leadership, calling President Barack Obama the world's best "snake charmer" who ever lived, the Times of India is reporting.

"Obama already admitted that his promise to withdraw U.S. soldiers from Afghanistan may be postponed, and the taxes for the richest contributors suspended right away," the 84-year-old communist icon declares in a new piece titled "Reflections by Comrade Fidel," published on Cuba's digital news site Escambray on Tuesday and written in direct response to the Western alliance's weekend summit in Lisbon. "After the Nobel Prize, we would have to award him with the prize for 'the best snake charmer' that ever existed," he adds.

Castro's rampage didn't stop with the U.S. president. He went on to call NATO "a bird of prey sitting in the lap of the Yankee empire" used by the U.S. to wage "the genocidal Afghanistan war." He offered praise for Russian President Dmitry Medvedev as "very correctly trying to limit the number of nuclear warheads that are pointing at his country."

As Press TV reports, Castro's comments come only days after Afghan President Hamid Karzai signed an agreement with NATO, ensuring the presence of US and NATO forces beyond 2014, the original deadline for the end of NATO military operations there.
