Jerry Seinfeld Talks Performing At The White House On Letterman (VIDEO)

Last night on "The Late Show," David Letterman welcomed the one and only Jerry Seinfeld. During the interview, the comedian told a story about the "coolest thing he's ever done" that would make any Beatles fan jealous.

Seinfeld detailed his night at the White House recently, where President Obama held a celebration for Paul McCartney as he was awarded the Gershwin Prize. Along with many famous musicians, Seinfeld was tapped to provide comic relief at the event, and somehow later ended up on stage singing a song with McCartney despite being the only non-professional singer there.

Does Jerry Seinfeld look like Gilbert Gottfried's handsome brother, or what?

Funny
I have a DVD of the Concert for NYC , a musical benefit for 1st responders of 9/11, with a stellar line up of musicians. At the end Paul McCartney came out, did one number, and then the finale, in which they invited all the other musicians and some firemen and NYC police up on stage. I remember seeing a cop with Paul on one side and James Taylor on the other , arms around each , singing. It must have been quite a moment for him.

What most people don't know is that it was John Lennon who thought of the line "you know what I mean.' Paul had written, "she had never been a beauty queen." John didn't like that so he suggested the line "you know what I mean" and Paul accepted it.

Oh wait a second....you must mean Sean Lennon's DAD!

I'm as much a Beatles fan as the next 56 year old guy but even I don't care about that.

My favorite part of that whole PBS show was Sir Paul singing "Michelle" to our lovely First Lady....and watching her husband beam and sing along to her....gave me goosebumps..

I just watched the re-broadcast the other day. He was very funny.

This was very funny to see Jerry showing his insecurity and being starstruck of being around the President and Paul. However, the clip stopped short of showing the picture of Jerry giving his routine taken behind the President and Paul- with their obvious heads in the photo- pretty neat.

Yeah, I thought that was a pretty awesome picture.

Well, I for one think he'll do OK.
The guy left his show and hit the road creating all new material.
That's a professional.

"he'll do OK"?
Perhaps you are unaware that Jerry's worth half a billion dollars.

Well, had no idea of money numbers, but, I think it's more of a feather in his cap that he went out and made all new material.
Heck, I haven't made a thousand bucks yet this year, but I think I have good art, so just for him having beaucoup bucks doesn't make him better or worse.

I guess I like his style. He could have gone out and just rode the horse he came in on, but instead of the easy way, he kept working.

I heard that you've been flying on passenger planes. Hoping that you'd crash. It's dark, [Jerry], very dark.
