Kanye West's Surprise Show At The Bowery Ballroom (VIDEO)

Kanye West performed a 'surprise' show last night at the Bowery Ballroom. Bowery Boogie was there to see it all in its messy glory:

His encore featured a haphazard medley of other stuff, including "Can't Tell Me Nothing" and "Paranoid." But of course, the night truly wouldn't be complete without a patented, self-serving speech by the diva. He tried to elicit sympathy by defending those remarks about President Bush being racist or how Taylor Swift never defends him in interviews. Yada yada. That was how the show ended.

Minus the 8 minute rant at the end, his performance of his new album was pretty good. I liked it and I like him.

the show was great - one of the best i have ever seen

the fact that so many blogs, including this one, focus on the last eight minutes of a close to 90 minute show kinda proves Kanye's point - doesn't matter what he does, the media will focus on the part of him that they want to

No, you are wrong. The media doesn't reveal his character - he does - over and over again. We focus on this part of his lack of class as you slow down to take a look at a traffic wreck and wonder how the accident happened in the first place.
