Obama Family Volunteers At Washington Food Pantry

WASHINGTON — President Barack Obama and his family have delivered turkeys that didn't receive a presidential pardon to a food pantry for the poor.

After Obama issued the annual presidential reprieves to two turkeys at the White House on Wednesday, the Obama family passed out turkeys, stuffing and other Thanksgiving staples at Martha's Table in downtown Washington. The first family also worked at the pantry during last year's holiday.

The president, his daughters, Malia and Sasha, first lady Michelle Obama and her mother, Marian Robinson, volunteered alongside friends and family.

Obama greeted patrons and their children with holiday wishes and high-fives, winking at toddlers as he packed bags with supplies.

Given that the housing bubble did collaspe. My claim that "either they took action and it did NOTHING, or they did nothing and just let the economy crash! Clearly, in 2003 and 2004 the issue of finance reform was not a priority of the White House or Congressional Republicans.
In the 109th Congress (2005-2006), the House overwhelmingly approved (331 to 90) HR 1461, The Federal Housing Finance Reform Act, designed "to create a stronger regulator for Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac." The Senate, still controlled by Republicans lagged the House in taking action. It is not clear if this was a lack of Republican leadership or blockage by Democratic leadership (filibuster threats). The Tea Party republicans after viewing this photo have accused President Obama of launching a socialist agenda to bail out the Thanksgiving holiday and indoctrinate turkeys into the holiday. In response, President Obama has agreed to postpone any further events at food lines and will encourage all Americans to explore the wonders of a vegan Thanksgiving. When will it end.
