O'Reilly, Whoopi Goldberg Clash About Muslims On 'O'Reilly Factor,' And Whoopi Swears Again (VIDEO)

Whoopi Goldberg's appearance on Bill O'Reilly's show was aired in full on Tuesday's "O'Reilly Factor." It was their first meeting since October, when O'Reilly caused Goldberg and Joy Behar to walk off the set of "The View" in anger. Unsurprisingly, that incident, and O'Reilly's statement that "Muslims killed us on 9/11," was the focus of his and Goldberg's rematch.

Though the encounter remained fairly civil -- except for one moment when Goldberg swore-- the two expressed a fundamental disagreement over both the impact of O'Reilly's words and the situation in the Muslim world. O'Reilly told Goldberg he thought it was ludicrous to assume that he literally meant all Muslims were responsible for the 9/11 attacks.

"I don't worry so much about what you think," Goldberg said, adding that she did worry about the effect such statements might have on viewers. "You're a really great showman, you're a great guy to talk to, but sometimes I think you give yourself less credit, which is shocking, I know, than you think," she told O'Reilly.

WATCH:

O'Reilly then asked Goldberg if she thought there was a "Muslim problem" in the world, as he did. She said that she thought there was a "terrorist problem." The two clashed about the issue for a few minutes, with O'Reilly saying that 90 percent of the terrorism in the world was being caused by Muslims, and Goldberg insisting that he was painting things with too broad a brush.

The spikiest moment, however, came when O'Reilly referred to Goldberg as "Ms. Goldberg."

"What is this bullshit about Ms. Goldberg?" Goldberg snapped -- ironically, using the very word that she used during their encounter in October. "Stop that, Bill, just call me Whoopi."

Whoopi is GREAT! I don't know how she keeps her patience with that intolerant ignorant bag of gas. He is a big noise.

I love Whoppi! She 's not afraid of having a conversation with someone who totally has the opposite ideas that she does. And tells them off, when they have ridiculous thoughts. Good going!

Yep, Bill will take us down that road that led to putting Japanese Americans in camps during world war II. Our enemy was the Japanese so citizen that looked Japanese became someone to be frightened of and we sent them off with their entire family to what amounted to "prison camps". We kept them there even though some of their fathers and brothers and sons were serving in the military fighting the war. When the war was over they came home and found their homes, their businesses and everything they had was gone and in most cases stolen from them by the good citizens of this country. By all means, lets do this again, only this time to the Muslims. I wonder what happens when the intolerant people in this country get rid of everyone and anyone who doesn't think, look, believe or worship just the way they do.....I guess they then start looking at each other and start to eat their own.......Be careful, America

Bill argues with a false equivalency. This is a typical Bill O'Reilly tactic (and Fox News tactic). He insinuated that saying Muslims attacked us on 9/11 was the equivalent of saying the Japanese attacked us during WWII. Actually a true equivalency would have been to say that the Buddhists or Confucionsists attacked us during WWII. You can safely say the we fought the British during the Revolutionary War, but it would be improper to say that we fought the Europeans or the Protestants.

Under Bill's logic you could say we were attacked by any of these groups:

1) Men
2) Arabs
3) Middle Easterners
4) Foreigners

What Whoopi was saying is that by not specifying, he paints all people of this group with a similar characteristic that is not fully warranted.

Working for a company that works in Iray and Afghanistan (and several other Muslim countries), I'm forced to constantly defend that we're not fighting Islam in either Iraq or Afghanistan. We're fighting extremists. In fact there are plenty of people of the Islam faith who are helping us in this endeavor (some who are actually US Soldiers). By not specifying this - he does an injustice to all of those people.

This is really annoying.
Bill understands what she's saying, clearly. 70-90% of Americans do not feel that way. Its BS.

Somebody should remind Bill O'Reilly of the time when Britain was constantly being attacked by "The Irish" - maybe check if he knew anything about these attacks and ask if he felt like part of the Irish Problem

Yes Bill, Muslims attacked us on 9-11--but not all Muslims.

And yes Whoopie, it's wrong to encourage hatred, even if one doesn't intend to do so--so how do you explain your constant defense and support of that vile woman bashing, anti-Semitic Mel Gibson?

Doesn't hypocrisy cut two ways? Just curious.

Whoopi's great. O'Reilly, not so much. When you try to make complex situations so black and white, it really speaks volumes about your intelligence (or lack thereof). 90% of terrorists are Muslims? No, 90% of the people that HE defines as terrorists are Muslims based solely on the religion they practice. There are plenty of white people who commit heinous crimes that would be considered acts of terrorism if they were Muslim. They conveniently go unnoticed by this joker.

Does anyone really think Bill O is smart? His opinion means nothing to me but he sure does inspire the wingnuts out there. Bill should stop hating on Muslims, especially on national tv.

WHoopi does what she always does...she uses vulgar language when she is up a tree and her arguments are unsupportable, which is more often than not. SHe should have stuck to comedy, being an intellectual is beyond her scope. SHe is funny and amusing, but O'Reilly should save his time slots for brighter people.

O'Reilly can't keep up with and intellectual person. He interviews very few. When he's up against one, then it's him that starts yelling them down, hoping to cowar them. He's not smart, and I can't see the draw?

Why was she on his show? I know she selling a book but does that mean she has to stoop that low?
07:46 AM on 11/28/2010
That's my thought exactly. Did she really think anyone watching Bill O would ever be in the market for her book? This was a cheap attempt by B.O. to bash muslims... again. too bad Whoopie let him fall for it.

Whoopi knows that Barbara was not at all pleased when she and Joy walked out on Bill on The View. This is one way to show she and Bill have truly buried the hatchet. And yes, Whoopi would take a job with Fox.
