The Huffington Post asked various media figures what they are thankful for this Thanksgiving. These are their responses:

I’m thankful Wesley Snipes and Charlie Rangel don’t do my taxes, and that I’m not traveling this week, so it will be a no-junk-groped Thanksgiving. I’m thankful for the explosion of creativity and compassion aimed at preventing Third World America that I saw all around the country on my book tour. I’m thankful my daughters are home from college for the holidays. And I’m thankful that my first three months as an empty-nester have allowed for a crazier work schedule, but with more sleep, meditating, and working out integrated into even the craziest days.

Arianna, darling practice English before you speak. It is very hard to understand you.

I'm grateful that we had food to eat this Thanksgiving, even if it wasn't the standard holiday dinner, which we couldn't afford. I'm grateful for my little ones and how much love our family has for each other. I'm grateful that the heat, water, and electricity are still on in our home although I don't know how much longer they will be on. I'm grateful that, if we're lucky, we may have our car for one more month before it's repossessed because we don't have work and haven't had work for more than six months now.

I'm grateful that I grew up in a time when real news reporting meant impartial reporting without having to listen to or read the inane opinions of those reporting the news. I'm grateful I don't know who 15 of the first 18 people quoted are and I'm even more grateful that I have the right to and did choose not to read more than 4 of the first 18 and none of the rest.

Most of all, I'm grateful for my loved ones, for the fact that I can teach them to be discerning about what information they allow into their lives, what they believe and don't believe, instead of following the pack like so many seem to do nowadays.

Arianna, what are you thinking doing this article? Considering how devastating things are for so many people, why would you think we would care what the wealthy and opinionated are grateful for?

Geezz, the censors for this thread are working overtime to keep anyone other than the absolute, beyond-the-fringe leftist media elements off of it. Why are they so afraid of ONE mention of someone who does not fit that label from little ol' me? Come on, someone, anyone, why do you all fear free and open speech so much? Why is the book buring menality the only one you have when you encounter a view that differs from your own?

I'm thankful for Glenn Beck. I'm thankful that he does the work the MSM ceases to do in vetting the sheer number of commies and radicals employed by this admin. Beck is real balance to the leftist sites and organizations that are nothing but rubber stamps for the Dems. And the fact that the usual leftist fringe jobs desopise makes me like him even more!

And thankfully there's a Fox News to provide ONE TV news network that doesn't exist just to advance the cult of Barak Hussein Obama Mmmm Mmmm Mmmm. Thank the stars for the diversity Fox News provides, in that respect and others!

CNN stop breathing the minute Soladed and Miles were replaced with the less than mediocre pair that assumed their co-chairs. (Seriously, I can't remember the current teams names. I was a regular with Miles & Soledad. Loved their chemistry, smartness & fresh-wit. So with little to chose from I I switched to Morning Joe. While Mika and Joe are thoroughly annoying and self-absorbed, their guests and the format supercede the big-headed wheel and his blonde arm-rest. Willie Geist keeps it together and working.

I'm grateful that my tv and my remote have buttons that will allow me to turn off the tv and enjoy peace and quiet and I'm thankful that no one is jabbering at me, telling what to think and making my decisions for me. I'm thankful for growing up when Walter Cronkite was reporting the news w/o any extraneous opinions from him or his network and I'm grateful that I had the opportunity to see real reporting at it's finest. But that was a long time ago...

Non have said thanks to all of us for making them multi-millionaires! We, their audience have helped these pundits and media stars negotiate fabulously rich contracts and book deals.

Yet we the people who put a smile on their income tax are never mentioned!;) Why?:) I'm half kidding but it's funny reading their comments as though they are regular folk...I like Olberman's praise of his father as how we leave this world is very important to those we leave behind.

Anyway to all my fans and moderators I thank you for my fan base and my Predictor Badge! Now where's my check?:)

Relevant to this forum, I'm thankful for Huffington Post - whose headline writers drive me nuts sometimes but who bring me the news I'm interested in and let me rant and chat a little bit when I have little time. and I'm thankful for Bill Maher who is correct and funny half the time, wrong and funny half the time so I guess you could say he's never Right but always funny. and Jon Stewart who is less funny but more correct. I live in Texas, but I'm thankful for my other state of California who turned aside money and vaccuous attacks for a real public servant like Jerry Brown.

NONE of the above. I think the award should go to us(american people) who listened to all of them and got confused all the time when come to take decision and then took a decision then criticized by same media that we took wrong decision.
So thanks for twisting/bending news and presenting in a way that nobody understands & also criticizing each other & government (instead supporting only right things & criticizing wrong).
Not helping the government to reach the people & diverting all the issues.
Thanks for discussing only politics(who wins who loose instead they can discuss the core issues in depth so people can understand what is happening in our country)
Least media can do is to spread right message but they fail miserably.
I wish next to years they help people to understand the new government policies and impact on our lives- & please don't say that decision is on American people if all of us where economist/strategist/analyst then i think you guys have no job to do.(so give well articulated/logical/futuristic opinion don't leave the message halfway so we get more confused)

I'm sure they are all thankful that they have 7 figure low skill jobs and are benefiting from the Bush tax cuts while children went hungry last night.
