Sarah Palin Iowa Book Tour Stop

WEST DES MOINES, Iowa — Hundreds turned out for a Sarah Palin book signing in Iowa, an event the former Alaska governor and 2008 Republican vice presidential candidate insisted was not for political purposes.

Palin's stop Saturday at the Borders in West Des Moines brought her back to Iowa, which hosts the caucuses that kick off the presidential nominating season.

The "America by Heart" author has hinted that she's considering a 2012 presidential run, but says the visit was to promote her new book and that's all.

Security was tight, and Palin did no media interviews.

People who bought her book were shuffled to the signing table in small groups. But few complained, and most couldn't contain their excitement.

Palin is scheduled to return to Iowa on Thursday for an event in Spirit Lake.

Sarah “the quitter” presidential material—really? After graduating from Wasilla High School (cited in a Johns Hopkins’ study as a perennial "dropout factory”), Sarah attended 5 no-name colleges in 6 years to finally squeak out a 4 year degree in mass communications (such a rigorous and exacting discipline). During her 6 year higher education odyssey, one of the schools she transferred to was  Read More...

I've been trying to find a review of this book that is not one sided. I find peole who like her are raving about the book and others loath it. I would love to read a real review by someone who is creditable and will tell the truth. I know it probably sucks but still it shoulod be reviewed with an open mind.

Jersey Shore The Kardashian's and all the Reality Stars that are famous for doing nothing but branding themselves well are also selling books does that mean they should run for somekind of political office? Just saying?

She should stop making comments like this. In fact, she should just stop making comments in general. It wasn't political, I believe her. It was an issue of soaking up some more attention and hoping people saw it as a political move, so she can have more air-time to defend herself.

All about the limelight with this one.

Of course it's not political. NOTHING is political when it comes to Sarah Palin. It's all about her own self-promotion and making money in the name of Democracy.

Heck, even publishing the ghost-written waste of trees was political. Palin's subterfuge is all too obvious these days, and the media never calls her to the carpet on anything.

Something in my gut tells me that after 2012, Palin will finally go back into obscurity.

Repubs will use this woman until the primaries and put a candidate that has a thumbnail of a chance to go against Obama.

She, like Michael Steele, are being used as political pawns. Nobody takes Palin seriously except the gullible public(a.k.a. Tea Ba66ers).

It's part of a larger claim which is the Palin strategy:

voting for Palin is supposedly NOT political either.

In her masterplan, it is apparently a 'natural' thing to do. This kind of strategy is just about the right kind of sophistication needed to rally the republican base.

But it's harder when it comes to explain it to pundits. I mean, just how come that so many of the book tour stops are in Iowa?

Anyway, I am certainly looking forward to the feedback from New Hampshire. Or any other non-non-political state.
