The Real Miami Heat: HuffPost Arts' Guide To Art Basel Miami Beach (PHOTOS)

As you read this, there is a giant pulsating orb known as Miami Basel alluring a defenseless international audience of art lovers, collectors and artists to encircle its captivating glow. Amazingly, the main fair called "Art Basel | Miami Beach" started only nine years ago as the sister fair to "Art Basel | Switzerland" and has since mushroomed into an extravaganza with over 20 satellite fairs and numerous parties to go along with it. Crossover events feature music, film, architecture and design. The main fair is at the Miami Convention Center near the city's Art Deco Districts and then satellite fairs are sprinkled throughout the city in a tandem celebration. Here is a brief non-comprehensive guide to what events, fairs and shows await you should you fly south for the winter.

As emerging artist I enjoy viewing what is, and makes up art fairs like Basel etc. Now I wish venues like HP would add emerging artist tab to give a bit of lift at the start.

Four cities "at the forefront of the arts world now" and not one of them is not Los Angeles?

But... but... but... we have so many art schools in L.A. parroting the famous artist teachers who never show up to teach. Squawk Polly Wanna Solo Show Squawk!
