Erik Spoelstra Miami Heat

ESPN has reported that the Miami Heat players are frustrated with coach Erik Spoelstra and are questioning whether he is fit to coach the team.

According to the report, sources said that the players think Spoelstra "is not letting them be themselves" and "that they are questioning his offensive strategies."

The Heat coach reportedly called out LeBron James during a recent practice in front of the team, telling him to get more serious.

In the third quarter of Miami's 106-95 loss to Dallas on Nov. 27, James bumped Spoelstra during a timeout. The 40-year-old coach downplayed the incident, reportedly saying he didn't notice the bump until he was told about it after the game.

Miami has lost four of their last five games and are 9-8 overall.

Quick Poll

Will Erik Spoelstra be fired?

Absolutely — his days are numbered.

No way — his job is safe.

I've read through just about every lame post here. Everybody all of a sudden is an expert on building a basketball team. The only thing the Heat needs to do as a team is run more inside plays. Spolstra knows that the rest of the staff knows it and the players know it now. So once they make this adjustment and play with pride they will be fine.

Bunch of little spoiled overpaid brats who need a mommy to watch over them at their age? If we acted that way at work, suspension first then termination would follow.

who would have ever predicted that three overpaid, coddled all-stars wold be blaming their coach for their lack of success? I don't see the coach's name in the box scores every night.

Perhaps it is the money that is being paid to these three "stars" precluding having the money to pay for a decent center and a point guard?!!!

This is to early for the blame game to be played. As the players need to play together to get to know each other game the coach need to also see them play together before he can recognize their best points.Give that situation a chance for the pressure to win leave. The only thing wrong with the Heat is people want to see them win like they been playing together for years.

Yeah, it's ALL his fault. Guess Coach Spo regrets mouthing off about those 6 or 7 championships coming to South Beach.

Maybe the Heat should be more frustrated with how much they suck on the court. Quit blaming the coach

Lebron should ask Kanye West to coach.

The Heat Stars didn’t need agents or owners to bring the trio to Miami. I guess at this point they don’t need even need a coach? Assistance, water boyz, hot dog vendors, ticket sellers, OR FANS!!

they need a point guard and a center to compete in their division, and after shelling out all that money for the three amigos, there is no money left. Gee guys, think maybe you should have thought of that when you packaged yourselves to sell.

If Spo is really not in control of that locker room, where is Riley on this publicly? Spo is Riley's guy. James is a punk. Not because he can't play, surely he can, but because it took him all of 10 games to crumble under the pressure. My man, (James) you embarrassed an entire city, largely innocent in all this that was begging you to stay, on national TV! What did you think was going to happen to your image?

As I predicted when LeBron had that press conference at the Greenwich Boys Club, James' coach would have to address him as 'Your Lordship'. Then the coach would have to give him foot massages. Then fetch LeBron coffee and hold his mobile phone and wallet for him. Miami, enjoy!

A collection of individuals does not make a team. I think they finding it out so you got to blame somebody for their future shortfalls.

So it's the coaches fault that a group of over charged egos can't play together as a team? Please trade these jerks and find players who want to play not show off.

Not my fault. Since I don't live in Miami or Florida I never wanted him. Maybe you need to stop assuming facts that do not exist.
