'Uggcitrin': The Ugg Boot Vaccine (VIDEO)

First Posted: 11/30/10 06:04 PM ET Updated: 05/25/11 07:15 PM ET

It's that time of year again, when the puffy, fur-lined boots known as Uggs start to be seen on women's feet everywhere. While some people swear by the comfort of the odd-looking shoes, Babelgum Comedy has had about enough.

In this spot-on parody of an HPV vaccine ad, Uggcitrin promises to prevent the spread of the Ugg virus known for symptoms such as "mistaking leggings for pants" and "wearing high-performance outerwear as a fashion statement." But most importantly, Uggcitrin will stop you from walking around the mall looking like you've got elephant feet.

Dingaroos? Kangadingos? If you give something about which you obsess a different name, it ceases to have power over you unless you are so powerless only the Boehner can be your strength.

Who cares if they're ugly, they're warm. End of story.

yeah they are ugly. I resisted them for several years and finally got a pair - I am all about comfort and I hate having cold feet!
Yay Uggs!

They are SO comfortable!! I love mine. I get the smaller styles because I'm petite and I don't look like I have elephant feet :)

Funny commercial though!

I picked up a pair when I was in Australia...over there they wear them mainly for comfort, not really for fashion.
01:43 PM on 12/01/2010
i think they're cute on girls, but i've seen much sexier boots on women in the city lately.

So are you saying I have a small bio?

"In Style" "Out of Style" says who?

Out of style? You mean the shoes that make my feet feel good?

In Style? You mean the shoes that make my feet hurt?

Go f*** yourself.

Yeah, get your feet out of comfortable shoes so you can wear 9 inch stilettos.
01:17 PM on 12/06/2010
Because there is nothing in between Uggs and 9-inch stilettos. Sounds perfectly reasonable.

If someone has another way to make me feel like I'm walking on a cloud - I'm all ears.

man, i wish girls were a little more original with their fashion since it's the girls who claim they are so fashionable... but most just follow trends without any originality. (sigh;(

uggs haven't been 'in style' or fresh looking in ten years.... and people still keep throwing them on.

"Fashion" *is* just following trends without any originality. Love it or hate it, but that's what it is.

I think it's great that women (and now men) are choosing to ignore the fashionistas and opt for comfort and wearability. I love my Uggs - can't wait to get them on when I get home at night and have received no complaints from my husband, who will soon be buying a pair of men's Uggs himself. Enough of the 4 inch stilettos!

You do realize that the popularity of Uggs began as a fashion trend, right? And you do realize that the nearly $200 you fork over for those hideous boots are for the brand name?

I owned a pair of Uggs and also own a pair of Emu's, Uggs' more attractive and cheaper cousin. I know the allure of these shoes, but they just aren't fashionable. There are plenty of other good looking shoes that keep me warm (any variation of moccosains for one). So I stopped wearing mine because they look like furry moose hooves and because I didn't want to look like everyone else. Uggs and Northfaces and leggings are for the people who have no style-bones on their body. They merely replicate what everyone else is doing. It's sad and I feel sorry for you guys. Plus, Uggs have no arch support. They may FEEL comfortable but they're bad for your feet.

haha furry moose hooves, agreed!

Nobody will ever convince me to get rid of my nice, warm Uggs during the wintertime. I don't care if they're not fashionable. Where I live, practicality trumps fashion when it's cold. Then again, I wear Birks in the summer, and I'm sure the fashion expert that wrote this cringes at the thought of that, too. You'll never shame me into giving them up.
