Doug McKelway To Fox News: Anchor Who Threatened To Punch Blogger In The Face Moves To Cable

Angry Ex-DC Anchor Hired By Fox News..Previously Threatened To Punch Gay Blogger

Doug McKelway, the Washington, D.C. anchor who notoriously threatened to punch a gay blogger in the face, has been hired by Fox News after being fired from his local news job, the Washington Post reports.

McKelway was let go by WJLA-TV this summer after heated clashes with his management over his opinionated commentary about Democratic ties to the oil industry. But he is most infamous for his encounter with blogger Mike Rogers in 2009. McKelway grew so incensed by Rogers, who outs closeted politicians on his website, that he threatened to punch him in the face.

He has joined Fox News as a reporter in the network's Washington bureau. The Post says that he started his new job on Monday.
