Health.com     First Posted: 12/02/10 07:58 AM ET   Updated: 05/25/11 07:15 PM ET

After zooming from one end of the mall to the other, don't you deserve a quick bite? Of course. Does it have to be greasy fries, gooey cinnamon buns, or some other equally fattening, sodium-loaded calorie bomb? No way! Believe it or not, you can eat healthy while you tackle holiday errands. Check out our delicious, nutritious picks.

Asian Grilled Salmon On Brown Rice (P.F. Chang's China Bistro)
1 of 11
This salmon-and-asparagus entrée won top honors because it's "a simple, wholesome dish with real foods," says David Katz, MD, director of the Yale Prevention Research Center. Our experts applauded P.F. Chang's for including brown rice -- a great source of fiber -- on their menu. And salmon's omega-3 fatty acids have been shown to improve memory (you don't want to forget anyone on your list!).

Omega-3s also help reduce inflammation in the body and may help lower your risk of heart disease, cancer, and arthritis. Since one order contains enough for two servings, split it with a friend -- you'll save money and calories.

Serving size: 6 ounces, or 1⁄2 of entrée

what mall is this?
Anyway, only the mall food court stores that can MAKE the rent can afford to be in a food court, and the healthier eateries cannot sell enough WHY? Because the patrons don't eat that.

Uh, hello, this is junk food. I wouldn't eat any of it unless I wanted a good healthy dose of msg, salt, sugar, fat and "flavorings" created in laboratories off Exit 6 of the New Jersey Turnpike.

The Subway Veggie Delite IS good, but deduct health points if you're concerned about microwaved food.

If you go to Panera Bread watch out for the sodium content in the sandwiches. I had a sandwich that had 2,000+ mg sodium.

They shouldonly include restaurats commonly found in food courts. California Pizza Kitchen and P.F. Chang's can't be conidered "a quick bite to eat".

You talk about local mall food. How often do you see half these restaurants in malls, please.
01:10 PM on 12/02/2010
They don't sell this at our local mall maybe in corte madera.

Why is this news HP? you know that not All the malls in America offer those restaurants you mentioned above. So if you live in a dingy town with none of those food places in their mall, including Subway, the only one i can actually think of that would be available, what are you supposed to do then? Drive to another county or another city to go eat healthy mall food. This article does not even make sense.

Atlanta. Lenox Mall. Hovan. For vegetarians or carnivores. The only (food) reason I bother to go back.
