Christine O'Donnell Book: Delaware Sensation Will 'Set The Record Straight'

Christine O'Donnell fans rejoice, haters lament -- the failed Delaware Senate candidate will soon be back on the media circuit with a new book about her experience during the 2010 election cycle. (Sorry DWTS fans, no big announcement about a possible "Dancing With The Stars" role here).

Perhaps seeking to rise from the ashes like Sarah Palin -- her key endorser in the 2010 GOP primary -- did after her failed vice presidential bid (and subsequent departure from the Alaska governor's post), the book's publisher, St. Martin's Press, has announced that O'Donnell's memoir will include political commentary on the state of affairs in the nation.

She'll "take the reader behind the scenes of her race for the Senate and embody O'Donnell's identification with America's frustrations and concerns with the current political climate," the publisher said in a news release.

O'Donnell tweeted triumphantly Thursday:

You heard the spin about the 2010 elections. It's time to set the record straight & move forward - signed a book deal w St. Martins Press!

Of her plans to return to the political stage, O'Donnell had this to say in a statement: "The 2010 midterm elections were just the beginning--the first rumblings of a revolution that has not fully erupted. I plan on making my book one of the revolution's catalysts."

Publication is scheduled for August 2011.

There are times when we scoff at what we perceive as the irrational­, brushing away stentorian alarms; and we pay dearly for that foolish act. I'd done that most of my life; hushing the voices that begged for validation­, closing my eyes to the pulsating shapes that followed me. I surveyed the gaggle of tourists on that now far away day; no children. Gran Met with two souls, one the gros bon ange which gives her the will to live and survive and connects her to the living and should she wish, if good works are done, she may return, I guess be reincarnat­ed, for a better life. Soul number two: Our personalit­y, the face we see in the mirror, our earthly essence: ti bon ange. I walked away shaking my head and thinking perhaps it was time I paid another visit to the department­’s psychiatri­st. Better a voodoo princess than the Madwoman of New Orleans.

Awww...she thinks she can write! Isn't that adorable? Personally, after she lost the election, I was really hoping that she'd stick around. She's sweet as pie, even if she's a world class dumby. Palin wouldn't be as hated and reviled as she is if she had the same attitude O'Donnell has. I know I certainly wouldn't have as much of a problem with Palin if she did.
