Idaho Snowman Shaped Like KKK Member Appalls Local Residents

Kkk Snowman

HAYDEN, Idaho — A white separatist drew complaints from neighbors and a visit from law enforcement officers after building a snowman shaped like a member of the Ku Klux Klan on his front lawn.

Kootenai County sheriff's deputies told Mark Eliseuson Wednesday that he could be charged with a crime because the 10-foot-tall snowman was holding what appeared to be a noose. Deputies were called by neighbors who were appalled by the pointy-headed snowman with two dark eyes.

Hayden for decades earned notoriety for being near the former rural compound of the Aryan Nations.

Eliseuson could have been charged with creating a public nuisance. Idaho law defines such a nuisance as anything "offensive to the senses" or that interferes with the comfort of an entire neighborhood. Eliseuson removed the noose and toppled the snowman after he talked with officers.

Eliseuson told KXLY-TV of Spokane that he sees nothing wrong with the snowman. But other people did.

"It's such a message of hate," said Amber Caldwell, who saw the snowman while visiting her cousin in the neighborhood. "My kids asked me about it and I had to explain what that symbol means."

Eliseuson has angered neighbors in the past by flying Aryan Nations flags at his home. At Halloween he passed out bullet casings after he said he ran out of candy.

To the moderator, would you kindly care to explain why user "wee weed up" is now apparently immune to rebuttal in their persisting and baseless accusation that I am a "terrorist sympathizer?"

You've blocked my response to this person three (3) times now outright, so it begs the question, are you -the moderator- in agreement with "wee weed up" that I am a "terrorist sympathizer?"

If so, I respectfully insist that the both of you produce empirical proof of my treason here and now.

To the moderator on this story, my congratulations, as you have set some kind of a record in blocking my posts outright: seven so far today, and all directed at "elkhunter1."

What shall I conclude, as none of my rebuttals to his racially charged comments and overt historical revisionist nonsense was in violation of Huffington Post's Fair Use rules?

Enlighten me.

Moderators are people too contrary to popular mythology. Each will make decisions based as much on their own bias as the rules they've agreed to uphold. Most here do their job with consummate professionalism, and were you truly rational you'd admit that simple fact.

The authoritarian historical revisionist screed and your apologist's rants in defense of this racist cretin expose you as being something rather further to the right than a mere conservative (and less than rational IMHO).

If you want to see real censorship other than the occasional act of dubious objectivity that occurs on these fora, try posting a "liberal" or even a merely *rational* opinion on the Freeper site and see how far it gets you.

Ha, I was reading through all of the posts that were removed from the comments. You are one smart man, I mean citizen; whatever.

I do like how you know everything, and assume that I know nothings on the matter of war, or the history of it. I also like how you believe I was defending the man from Idaho or his actions. Where you got that out of my posts I will never know, it kind of makes me wonder about how well you retained all of the information you aquired while getting that "military history degree".

Anyways, for anyone who really thinkgs that the civil war was about slavery or getting rid of it should look into the writings of Lincoln letter to Horace Greeley and some of the souther plantation owners diarys of the time. The war was about slavery, in part; but it was not the focus of the war or the president.

Slavery was the causus belli for the South, their "rights" as they were always so fond of asserting.

Preserving the Union was Lincoln's rallying cry from the beginning, and he knew that the majority of Northerners were ambivalent about the subject of slavery for many reasons.

Slavery was a festering wound upon our nation's body politic that the Northern politicians generally kept trying to cover with a band-aid and hope it would go away and leave for the next congress to deal with, while the Southerners kept pushing for its expansion, the better for their interests to potentially dominate the congress by adding more slave states to the representational pool 9and give them greater representation for remuneration purposes).

I've been studying war and the Art of War since childhood. I'm a trained researcher and an academic.

BTW, would you like me to start quoting you, most especially your use of the very same coded argument used by white supremacists to try and persuade others to join their cause, specifically the "white pride" argument?

While I freely admit I am always learning new things, on the evidence, you're just about the last person on earth to be able to school me in much of anything concerning our nation's history, citizen.

This is all you have to do to make national news? There must be nothing else going on.
Hey, when I get home, I'm going to make a gigantic snow wee-wee in my yard!
It will be there until two minutes after my wife gets home. Maybe one.

This act is not courageous. Building a Klanish snowman in a place that has a miniscule black population is cowardice. Building one in near by Southside Chicago? Now that would be courageuous.
