Get Festive: Chicago's Holiday Happenings

Yes, it's cold out there. But don't let the low temperatures kill your holiday buzz. Now through the 25th, the city is jam-packed with festive events.

We rounded up a few of our picks here.

Christkindlmarket Chicago

Stop by the 15th annual German-style market and browse the handmade goods for sale from over 50 vendors.

When: Every day until Dec. 24, 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Terra Madre Day Celebration

Participate in a good cause and learn about sustainable food with Slow Food Chicago in honor of Terra Madre Day by exploring the African gardens in North Lawndale. The event will introduce the preSERVE garden project, give a garden tour and an informational on Slow Food International's extensive garden project in Africa.

When: Friday, December 10,1 p.m.

Logan Square Christmas Market

Satisfy your sweet tooth at the Logan Square Christmas Market, which will feature pastries, cakes, cookies and ice cream.

When: Saturday, December 11 and Sunday, December 12 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Bucktown Holiday ArtShow

Get some holiday shopping done at the ArtShow, which features unique crafts for loved ones.

When: Saturday, December 11 and Sunday, December 12 from 12:00 p.m. to 5 p.m.

The Second City "Letters To Santa" Benefit

"The Second City That Never Sleeps: Letters To Santa" show is 24 hours of improv, music, and some awesome raffle prizes.

When: Tuesday, December 14, 7 p.m.

Holiday Bash for Beer Lovers

Party on at the Half Acre winter bash by trying a few brews such as Half Acre Lager, Over Ale and Daisy Cutter, along with beers from at least seven other local brewers.

Christmas Caroling At The Bean

What's the holiday without a little Christmas caroling? Every Friday see a different chorus singing Christmas carols in front of the bean at Millennium Park.

The Matzo Bash Christmas Eve Gala

One of Chicago's biggest Christmas Eve parties so be sure to get your tickets ASAP. Last year there were over 1,200 part-goers.
