Launch of LA's Curate Couture Boutique

Launch Party For LA's New Curate Couture Boutique

Friends, shoppers and vintage fans alike came out to celebrate the launch of Curate Couture on Saturday night. The store has actually been open since summer and can already count Meg Ryan, Jessica Alba and Shiva Rose as frequent customers. Conceptualized and founded by Corrina Tillmon, Curate is co-owned by Micaela Beckwith (formerly a buyer at Decadestwo), Lauren Raquel (who also acts as Operations Director) and Miriam Sternoff (Senior Style Editor).

The boutique is tastefully filled with a finely curated selection of designer vintage and consignment clothing, shoes, handbags and accessories (think Chanel, Givenchy, Hermes, Prada, Lanvin, just to name a few). The modern design of the shop acts as a gallery where the merchandise can truly take center stage.

However, there is nothing stiff or stuffy about the boutique. The owners truly care more about dressing women for daily life by "encouraging the client to invest in certain pieces that speak to their lifestyle and cater to their body type rather than just buying trendy pieces," says Beckwith. They take the time to assist each customer--even if it means pulling half the items off the rack to help find that perfect fit--so that leaving with a dress isn't merely about walking away with a label.

All of Curate's items are investment pieces in some way or another, but that doesn't necessarily imply a hefty 'financial investment.' Prices range from under $100 to over $1000, and each purchase, regardless of its monetary value, is sure to add great value to both a jeans-and-tee wardrobe or one that is already filled with couture.
