How does something from Utah make it but nothing from the East Coast of the US. I mean, if they felt pressured to put something from the US on there, shouldn't be from the older part of the US, I don't know maybe Georgetown, Old Town Alexandria, the Fan District in Richmond, Va, or Church Hill, also in Richmond.

Belgrade, Serbia has a beautiful old town fortress (Kalemegdan) built by the Ottoman Turks during the middle ages.

The original cobblestones, stone buildings and old ironworks are still here. To visit it is to escape to a different world.

it seems like it's only the cities on the west coast of the US that don't have ancient old towns

Ogden??? Really???? I mean in the US, I think the old city in New Orleans, and the North End of Boston beat Ogden without a doubt.

In terms of North America outside of the US, what about Mexico City's Zocalo, Quebec City's Vieille Ville, Montreal's Vielle Ville, Old San Juan?

Someone send photos!!

having been to about half of the cities mentioned, i must say the choice of fotos is appalling. especially non-representative is that from krakow. http://www.google.com/images?q=wawel%20castle%20krakow%20poland&hl=en&client=firefox-a&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&tbs=isch:1&source=lnms&ei=5S8ATe-KDY72swOoqKCwCw&sa=X&oi=mode_link&ct=mode&ved=0CBAQ_AU&biw=1440&bih=719

London might have had an old town....if there hadn't of been the Great Fire of London in 1666 (Although it did help stop the plague), and the Blitz.

Actually Lincoln has some very nice 16th century architecture down one of the hight streets, a real throw back to older times.;

I don't think I've ever been to chester now you mention it... York's another lovely city, although I'm not sure that much of the old city remains, even within the city walls.

I am a bit surprised to see the old town in Warsaw on the list--it was completely leveled in WWII and what is there now is a reconstruction. Seeing Ogden, UT as the only US listing was a bit odd--I know its full of tourists and drunk frat boys, but the French Quarter in New Orleans would be the most worthy US choice.

How do you leave out Santa Fe? It's Old Town is probably the most unique on Earth.

Old Town Warsaw is pretty, but do not confuse it with an old town. It is mostly from the 70s
