Inside Staten Island's Greenbelt (VIDEO)

WATCH: Inside Staten Island's Greenbelt Forest

Thirteen has posted a video of Staten Island's Greenbelt, a 2500-acre tract of forests and hiking trails in NYC. Inside this stretch lie lush, green forests, and the remnants of past structures, now mossy and decayed. Old landmarks like The New York City Farm Colony, a facility for the poor, sick and elderly, decades since closed.

Preservationists have been fighting to preserve the space for decades. It's a haunting, beautiful tract, and surprisingly, it's in New York City!
