Padma Lakshmi talks about her post-baby body and how she sheds the ten pounds she gains on each season of 'Top Chef' in the new issue of Redbook.
"Be patient with yourself and give yourself compassion," she tells new moms. "It's about consistency. You're not going to lose 20 to 30 pounds in a month, nor should you. You can still feel feminine and beautiful and strong whether you're a size 12 or a size 2."
Padma took her own advice after giving birth to daughter Krishna in February. Her biggest surprise about her body?
"That I liked myself at a bigger size," she told the magazine. "I wanted to lose the weight, but I thought I was doing something more important than tending to my vanity. You look at your body totally differently. It created this life and brought it into the world."
Padma has previously talked about her extreme workout, which includes running up 70 flights of stairs and hours of weight-lifting.
