Colorado Poverty Rate Rose To 12.6% In 2009

An estimated 12.6 percent of Coloradans lived in poverty in 2009, lower than the national rate of 14.3 percent, according to Census Bureau data released Wednesday.

The poverty rate in Denver County itself was 18.8 percent in 2009, the highest in the metro area.
