Reese Witherspoon features on the cover of the new Entertainment Weekly, and opens up to the magazine about her divorce - and robots.

While her split from ex-husband Ryan Phillippe was difficult, Witherspoon maintained a positive attitude throughout.

"It definitely sometimes feels like a suit that I wish I could zip off," the 'How Do You Know' star said. "But I don't feel bad about any of the things I've gone through, whether it's divorce or breakups or anything like that, because that's all part of the life journey, and I have those experiences just like anyone else. And I think it deepens what you tap into creatively."

Phillippe also had a tough time, but said this past June that he's working to move on, as well.

"I still have sadness and complicated feelings about my divorce. But how beneficial is it to keep hanging onto those feelings?" he said. "If someone lives through an accident, his aim is to become better and healthy. My aim is always to progress --- to make better decisions and be a better father, a better boyfriend, a better husband if it happens again."

Witherspoon and Phillippe have two children together - 11 year old Ava and seven year old Deacon. She said recently that she would like to have more children, and is now dating Hollywood agent Jim Toth, whom she began seeing in February.

As for robots? They're not quite Witherspoon's speed.

"There are a lot of really, really, really big movies about robots and things -- and there's not a part for a 34-year-old woman in a robot movie."

These shallow goons change marriages like they change clothes and if it weren't for the fact that their morally bankrupt, spoiled brats are worse than they are I may feel the least bit of sympathy. Their meaningless, soulless comments are proof positive what a waste of air they are.

So phony and boring.

Happy medical wife, mom

Reese Witherspoon was one of my late mom's favorite young actresses. Our families come from the same part of the world and similar academic-medical backgrounds. Mom recognized her talent but also the fact that she's both smart as a whip and as well mannered and gracious as can be. I'm a big fan. My mom would have enjoyed seeing that recent picture of her getting her Hollywood star along with her beautiful children.

No room for a woman in her 30s in a movie about robots?

Tell that to Linda Hamilton!

Ready for the zombie apocalypse...if it comes.

I don't care for her or her acting. I thought she was fine in Walk the Line...definitely no Joaquin Phoenix...I feel like anyone else could have played that role as well as she did.

She did have a nice singing voice though, (which I preferred over June Carter's- don't flame me fans!). Gotta give her props for that.

Check her out in Freeway and Election.

I would totally watch a movie featuring Reese Witherspoon and robots.

Hollywood, are you listening?

It's called an interview. They ask questions, than one responds.

I know what an interview is miss snarky, but she's talking about a divorce from like 10 years ago...
02:47 PM on 12/09/2010
That divorce was years ago. Why talk about it?

Because she's promoting a movie. That's how the celeb machine works.

Because the media likes a dog fight.

Reese needs new material: my feelings about my divorce, blah blah blah; my children and my role as a mother, blah blah blah; i'm just a girl from Tennessee, blah blah blah.

I swear she only talks about three things. Enough.

Talk Nerdy to Me
02:44 PM on 12/09/2010
I dunno...what would you prefer her to talk about? Politics? Neuroscience?

This is her life. Her children, her family, her experiences...I see nothing wrong with someone talking about their life. Maybe it's not as exciting as you'd like it to be, but frankly most people's lives are not that exciting (my life excluded, of course!)
04:12 PM on 12/09/2010
And she rarely gives interviews, so, at least, it's not the same soundbites over and over and over for some of these celebs.
04:38 PM on 12/09/2010
jonesygal,

It just goes to show how uninteresting she actually is. She doesn't experience life. She doesn't know anything about it. She's a bore and that was my point.

She's not educated (one semester at Stanford doesn't count), she's never really been anywhere, she doesn't have opinions on politics/art/the world, etc., because she's probably too afraid of offending someone. Thus, she only has three things she talks about.

She's so vanilla that people like her not necessarily because she's extraordinary in any way but because she offends the fewest people. I don't hate her, I'm just not a fan and I don't understand why Reese's "fans" get so defensive whenever someone says something critical about her.

Smart girl, she never really tells you anything private.

She also never discusses her divorce, this is unusual. But then again, she really gives nothing away.

just like you, in fact.

Both salubrious and lugubrious concurrently.

I recall several years ago some late night talk show host complaining to a reporter that the worst personality for them to interview is a young ambitious Hollywood starlette. Because all they've got in their life is their career, all they do is their career, all they know is their career. There's nothing inside there otherwise to ferret-out. I got the distinct impression he was talking about  they young Reese Witherspoon.

She was never a starlette. You're way off.
