These kids aren't going to be babies forever, and they are going to create a whole new branch of Legal services. And then they're going to write books!!

The U.S already knows how to do this. Look the other way while illegals cross the border and don't disturb the pregnant mother so she can make it to an emergency room and drop her anchor.

If you think crime syndicates and sex trade entrepreneurs aren't watching this for ideas, you're very naive.

Kid ends up learning how he was conceived.
Here is what he might think:
--my mom is from Bulgaria and she probably was married and had other children.
--my dad is from Italy and is probably married and has children.
So I have half brothers and sisters in two countries and two step-mother/step-father.
My parents (those who thought I could get engineered this way) spent say, $30,000 to have me. The kid next door cost $45,000. I am cheap.
What did my genetic mom and father actually get to have me? What material good did they need so bad they made a kid that will never know much of his origins? Why was I considered as something that could just be made and thrown into the world?
Why do kids still sleep under tents while so much money was spent upon me?

From a purely biological point of view, diversification is a good thing. But society frown on that.

I believe the restrictions on gay adoption in this country (US) are ridiculous, and based purely on bigotry. They should be relaxed, and gays should face the same criteria as straight couples. Same for singles who are in a position to adopt. There are too many unwanted children who need a family and love!

I can understand why a person would want a baby - but for heavens sake there are some beautiful children awaiting adoption. As soon as a child hits 5 years they are considered "special needs" solely because of their age.

I do get frustrated with people who will pay thousands for babies whether through surrogate or foreign adoptions - believing they will have the perfect baby/child. They do not even consider older children and that is so very sad.

Adopted children can be hard work, but the rewards are so very worth it.

I know we adopted a child 10 years ago and he is now what a typical teenager should be :)

Why babies? I was infertile, and I understand the overwhelming want. But this is extreme.

I so agree with you. Decades ago, we'd make jokes about "consumer society" soon manufacturing babies for sale.
They are here now.
I am profoundly disgusted with all of this.

Have you ever tried to have a phone conversation with overseas technical support for one of those foreign produced babies? It can be really frustrating!

This is creepy.
There is too much room for abuse here, especially because of the multinational issues, it's like they are going out of their way to avoid being illegal in a lot of the world, and India....right, what kind of toxic problems will these children grow up to possibly have?
Now I can feel for some couple who want a child but..hey this is going up a road that can really go bad really FAST...

There are tons of hungry kids worldwide already. Nearly 4 million kids are abused, neglected etc.

How about a worldwide contrapception and family planning intiative instead of this new industry that basically just produces even more kids.
