Haven't commented sooner and don't know if anyone will see this at this late date.... As a lifelong, knock-kneed, dyed-in-the-wool, bleeding heart liberal, unless Maine Dems come up with an outstanding--and I do mean outstanding, candidate, I will be voting for Olympia--again. Although she hasn't always voted the way I hoped, she's stood up to the Repub leadership far more often than not and more than her fair share and she'll get my support, both at the ballot booth and in campaign dollars.

Another moderate republican will bite the dust.

Sen. Snowe is the smartest politician this side of the insanity line. No way she resigns...no way she goes Dem...no way she loses.

What's this? Another moderate whom the far right wants to overthrow? Seriously, the GOP has gone mad!

In an independent state like Maine, this would have to increase the chances of the seat going to a Democrat, unless Snowe pulls a Murkowski and runs as an independent.

This article leaves out one important thing, my home state never votes out an incumbent. Even Mama Baldacci's son managed to not lose as a congressman or governor.

I dont care if she runs as a Democrat but its not fair to run as a C onservative and then make deals and go against everything you said you stood for to be able to brag about being nonpartisan. We need the real deal to replace her.

What's the real deal? The reason Delaware went the way it did is because North Eastern and New England Republicans aren't generally right wing extremest and if you live in NH than your opinion dosen't matter, dose it?

A tea-party candidate will be easier to beat in Maine, maybe O'Donnell should move there ASAP.

This woman deserves to have a target on her. She only is about enriching herself at the expense of this country.

Like most politicians, she has no core conviction other than getting re-elected and coping with her lack of self-esteem. She will actually leave in the dust all the left-leaning votes she's made in order to please the Democrats in Maine, without whom she could never get elected. However, she'll never be pure enough for the tea party, and they'll happily reject her. But fear not, she will pre--empt all that by simply retiring before the election. I'm predicting about September of this year.

If they want her out, she'll be out. She should throw the tea partiers under the bus and go flat out in voting down the line with the Democrats and leave on a high note.

She said she was going to and then did not..

Yes, I'm aware of that, she's a real "teaser." I was really disgusted with how much time Obama wooed her during the HCR debacle.

Pressure from those in her party kept her, I believe, from doing what was right for the American people.

But wouldn't it be sweet if she did do what she seemed somewhat inclined to do, i.e., side with the Democrats to defend the middle class?

I am mistaken as to what you said.
Olympia will not leave on a high note she is to much into enriching herself at the expense of this country.

Time to ban DiHydo-Mono-Oxide
It is fatal if inhaled, it is extensively in both nuclear power plants and nuclear weapons development, pesticides, Styrofoam manufacturing, etc.

It is also a very important part of global warming and climate change cycle.

Olympia Snowe, like Sandra Day O’Conner, has shown that party loyalty takes preference over everything else.

Olympia Snowe, like Sandra Day O'Connor, is a RINO and they both should be tarred and feathered.
