The Most Popular YouTube Cooking Videos Of 2010

First Posted: 12/13/10 09:05 AM ET   Updated: 05/25/11 07:20 PM ET

Today, YouTube announced the most popular cooking videos on the site from 2010, and below are all 20 of them, including a tutorial on how to create a potato ball inside a potato box, a technique for homemade pizza dough, and how to make kimchi. In just the last two years, YouTube searches for recipes have quadrupled, and YouTube has seen an explosion of both amateur and professional cooks uploading their videos to the site.

As Scarlett Lindeman explained over at the Atlantic last week:

[E]ven the most well-stocked library cannot undermine the speed and expanse of the Internet. Cooks curious about a particular technique can click through YouTube archives as if turning the pages of a well-thumbed French Laundry cookbook. I know many who do and then pass them around via e-mail and Facebook. Cutline Communications, a consumer technology PR company, has noted that "more Americans are turning to YouTube to learn how to prepare all kinds of foods."

Check out 2010's most popular YouTube cooking videos, by number of views, below.

The potato box is fun, but how to cook it? Deep fried? Baked? Boiled? Does anyone know?

Another vote for Cooking With Dog. Although, I am glad Maangchi's videos (Kimchi and Hoddeok) ended up on the list. She's another favorite of mine.

Still not sure why some of these became the favored videos and so popular; however, they are definitely fun to watch. I'm not sure if all the food made would be edible but...... which one is your favorite?

Not mention of the Edna de la Cruz cake decorating and baking videos. They're fabulous and she's gorgeous.

Cooking with Dog is the best! No, dog is not an ingredient, he's the host of the show, he supervises all the cooking and tells you how to prepare the dishes.

I'm a big fan of Cooking with Dog! I love that dog's warbled Frenchy voice.

You haven't seen cooking videos on Youtube until you've watched Cooking with Dog. They are hysterical and, actually good food.

These are the most popular YouTube cooking videos of the year, objectively speaking, according to YouTube themselves.

Just being a bit facetious - ok, a lot. But, objectively speaking? By what measure - the lowest rated Epic Meal Time video has more views and likes than any of the videos listed here.

How can it be a top YouTube video and it doesn't even tell you how much of each ingredient to add!! Mac&Cheese. Very frustrating
