Inn Keepers Turned Away Gay Couple For Religious Reasons (POLL)

When Martyn Hall and Steven Preddy booked a hotel room at The Chymorvah, a Cornwall hotel, they never expected to be turned away from the seaside inn. But that's what happened when the duo, an English gay couple, arrived only to be told they could not have a room in the inn. Now the duo is suing the owners, Peter and Hazelmary Bull, for discriminating against them, according to the Guardian.

The hotel's owners claim that they turned the couple away for religious reasons, as they do not allow non-married couples to stay in their hotel (the couple are civil partners). The owners say that their policy is available for all to see on their site, but the couple disagrees.

Preddy and Hall's case is being backed by the Equality and Human Rights Commission, while the Bull's defense is being handled by a Christian charity.

This all begs the question: Do hotel owners have the right to let their religion dictate their booking policy?
