Stephen Thompson, Albino Model, Poses In Givenchy's Spring Campaign (PHOTOS)

Riccardo Tisci has once again found an unexpected model to pose in Givenchy's spring 2011 campaign, WWD reported on Monday. Meet albino model Stephen Thompson, who mugged for the camera alongside Daphne Groeneveld, French Vogue's 15-year-old cover girl.

According to WWD:

Tisci explained that he's long admired albino people, reflected in the pale flesh tones that are recurrent in his fashions. "They're very near my world," he enthused.

Tisci raised eyebrows last fall when he put transsexual model Lea T. in his adverts.

Check out the image Givenchy provided to WWD. By Mert Alas and Marcus Piggot:

Here's another image that seems to be from the same campaign that we found on The Fashion Spot:

Scary! Looks like an actor from Twilight, and not the wolfpack.

Incredible! His features are extremely classic, yet he's unusually arresting. I read Tisci was inspired by a Mapplethorpe photo of a Roman bust, and this is truly an amazing modern interpretation. Stephen Thompson is surprisingly versatile too. You can see more of his portfolio here:

If it's now deemed offensive to use black folk as 'shadows'
a la 'Me And My Shadow' dance numbers,
why is it OK to use an Albino as a' ghost'? with
these double exposure type shots?

Albino...Y U NO SMILE?

Creepy zombie people. Why do these designers think these kinds of shoots are good for their brand? And why are these people always frowning? It's not like they have to do any heavy thinking. "Mmm, stand still. Wait for shot. Get some bottled water. Repeat."

I love the ads. They are just so.... stark ... so undeniably perfect.
