Arianna Visits Harlem LitWorld Girls Club On Crowdsourced Book Tour (PHOTOS)

Arianna made the second stop on her crowdsourced book tour last night at the non-profit literacy center The Harlem LitWorld Girls Club, where she talked to girls aged 8 to 16 about her story of empowerment through writing.

After a warm welcome by Pam Allyn, LitWorld's Executive Director, the girls had the opportunity to share their own writing and to talk to Arianna about the power of storytelling and community uplift.

The event took place at the Polo Grounds Center of the Harlem Children's Village, a community center run by Jeremy Kohomban, located on Eighth Avenue in Harlem.

4 of those girls are already fat. Schools need to promote Mrs. Obama's nutrition plan.

or take $arah Palin's advice and demand that govt stay out of their lives and encourage them to eat roasted marshmellows all day.

Thank you Arianna for the consistent hard work and talent it takes to do the job you are doing. Few exhibit the courage to cut through the sophisticated and consistent plays, lies and evasions of those who seek to use this country as their own chess game for profit. Hopefully others will follow your example.

Everything starts with sharing stories. There's a reason that the storytellers of old always had the closest seat to the fire. What an exciting thing for Arianna to bring these girls into a global community of literacy. Bravo!

Having caring adults as mentors is so important to young girls and their self esteem, just knowing there are other careers and ways of doing things outside your own neighborhood.
According to the Annie Casey Foundation &www.childrenofthecode.org
"the failure rate on third grade reading tests is now used to help project the number of jail cells needed when those third graders are adults. California is one of the states that uses this formula"
