Google Ngrams: Charting The History Of English (PHOTOS)

We've now spent half the day playing with Google's new ngram app that by searching all the digitized books, allows you trace the usage of a word over several centuries. We've done comparisons--the use of "men" is tanking while "women" is fast on the rise. And we've traced odd ones: "Snookie" dates back to the 1920s and "dude" peaked in the 1600s. Add your favorites and we'll do this again.
