There are few NBA losses more painful than the one the Denver Nuggets experienced last night against San Antonio. Carmelo Anthony's would-be game winner was called off after officials called an offensive foul, and the Nuggets narrowly lost to the red-hot Spurs 113-112.
On the bright side, however, embattled Nuggets guard J.R. Smith threw down what will likely be considered one of the best dunks of the season. With time running down in the first quarter, Smith crossed over his defender, took two strong steps, jumped from just inside the free-throw line and finished strong over San Antonio's Gary Neal, plus the foul.
