Biden Makes Case For Assange As A 'High-Tech Terrorist'

Vice-President Joe Biden made his case for why WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange is a "high-tech terrorist" on Sunday, in an appearance on NBC's "Meet The Press."

"This guy has done things and put in jeopardy the lives and occupations of people in other parts of the world," Biden said. "He's made it difficult to conduct our business with our allies and our friends. ... It has done damage."

Biden also claimed the leaks have had a direct impact on his own work when meeting with world leaders. "There is a desire now to meet with me alone rather than have staff in the room," he said. "It makes things more cumbersome."

Biden said the Justice Department is exploring possible legal action against Assange. His comments echoed those made by Senate Republican leader Mitch McConnell earlier this month. "I think the man is a high-tech terrorist," McConnell said.

Wiki Leaks has created a tsunami of questions around the world and I imagine the present international emotional climate replicates the animosity that a philandering spouse perceives when discovered by his or her partner. Transparency and trust are the foundation for all human relationships, formal and otherwise. Something so intrinsic and so critically important is knowing who is predictably on and at our side. But these dynamics have been going on for such a long time...Biden shouldn't take it personally but instead see it as a systematic modus operandi that profoundly needs reform and has needed this change for many years. Wise statesmen and women have always been rare souls and, more than ever, we need them now.

I haven’t followed Joe Biden, but this has definitely altered my opinion of him; I used to think of him as a statesman. Now, I’d just call him a politician.

If America had an 'honest' foreign policy in the first place this would have never happened. But noooooo, it had to carry on with a 'cold war mentality' even after it became obsolete. After it vanquished It's super-power foe, America expanded it's well honed skill at gaining advantage to include the whole world. Like a Ponzi Scheme of lies, it has piled up for decades and is now collapsing under it's own weight.

I think WikkiLeaks is great. It may not serve our politicians because it exposes their secrets, lies and dirty deeds. But it sure serves me - it provides some truths I would normally be deprived of.
But if WikkiLeaks can put a hit on a major bank and cause an executive to resign, that would be one for the ages. If they can do that I will send them donation. Th banks have done a lot of harm in this country to consumers and investors and have never had to answer for it. Hopefully, Wikkileaks has something interesting to release.

The internet has been a great innovation but it has also cost us loss of a significant amount of
privacy. WikkiLeaks is the good benefit that comes with the bad - so enjoy it.
