Andre Leon Talley Imagines What The First Lesbian President Would Wear

Andre Leon Talley On What The First Lesbian President Would Wear

In her latest column for the New York Times, Maureen Dowd wonders if America ready for a gay president. She interviews the likes of Bill Maher, Barney Frank and Representative Tammy Baldwin of Wisconsin...and in the last paragraph, Dowd finds someone who talks at our speed: Vogue Contributing Editor and "America's Next Top Model" judge Andre Leon Talley.

So what did Talley have to say on the subject?

[He] pictures a lesbian president who looks like Julie Andrews and dresses to meet heads of state in "ankle-length skirts, grazing the Manolo Blahnik kitten heels." She would save her "butch trouser suit for weekends at Camp David and vacation hikes in Yellowstone. No plaid lumberjack shirts at any time."

Chic! But the chic-est part of all? That Andre is on Dowd's speed dial.
