No sense getting too upset now, especially radical right that reelected every goon who put this whole process in motion.
And, what's the diff?  With corporations amassing this info anyway, handing it over to the government whenever asked for 'national security,' using it against you in your daily life in ways you haven't even thought of yet, it's clearly already being done by people who  Read More...

Girl! You are too far behind. My insurance company sends me letters telling me I'm not taking my medication often enough because they are watching my refills. My insurance company tells the government what I can have and what I can't, not my doctor. They routinely give me a hard time getting my prescriptions for life sustaining medications, not opiates or anything like that, just my daily insulins and blood pressure medicines. All this data collecting was done stateside by a company based in Brussels and Geneva, not even a U.S. company, but one that also developed the drone technology. The same company that was fined $50,000 for breaking U.S. labor laws at their location in Atlanta in their use of temporaries they failed to raise to permanent, while they were bringing in H2B's.

Israel is the BOSS of the USA!
Those who don't like a FOREIGN COUNTRY to be the BOSS
MUST stop voting for the POLITICIANS (Elected or Defeated) (Democrats or Republicans) and
WRITE the following on the BALLOT:

"NONE of the ABOVE Agents of Israel"

OR vote simply and DIRECTLY for the

"PM of Israel"

thus removing the Middlemen/Middlewomen masquerading as US Representatives!

I would not agree that any nation is the boss of the US. But foreign companies operating in highly sensitive areas could potentially harm our security as well as our liberty.

Probably all to be maintained in some outsourced database in Iraq or Afghanistan, a short hop from the current database of India. lol

There looking in all the wrong places they do not need to go any farther then the Washington DC to find all the real crooks and threat to USA national security! If this is not big Brother and heading toward a police state I do not know what is! I will probably be under surveillance now for saying this!

Bingo!

Dual loyalties of our law makers in Congress is one of the biggest threats to our national security. Additional PressTV reports that 'US hires Israeli firms to spy on folks'

"Seeking to learn more about Islam and terrorism"

I would suggest that the activity of many other groups should be of concern particularly legislators with dual loyalties.

Dont like the idea and I get no comfort from the allegation that Britain and Israel have such programs. The latter is a state that discriminates against its citizens on the basis of ethnicity as a matter of law and for that is hardly a democracy that we should be seeking to emulate.

The government needs to start selling that information to various companies and organizations so that it can start to pay down its debt.

Can you imagine wasting money on a venture like this? Unless valid reasoning would hold up in court then it's just a Bush policy continuation. Most of us are so boring.

Kinda makes it pretty clear that "fighting terrorism" is merely a pretext for controlling one's own population. Thanks for starting us down this road, Bushie.

Of course they are. More and more of them are figuring out the TEA Party is right.

About what?

Why would the government not collection information about the people inside it's borders?

be clear on this

the iron rule of history: once they pick out one group, yours is next

so, you either fight this one, or go to the slaughter next

Watch what you say; they are watching.

Just be glad if you are not black, muslim American, a political activist, or deemed suspicious by anyone at all; then you should be fine. . . for now. . . until they expand the "list".

Will they be hiring for the American Stasi soon?

So what steps are these government agencies doing to safe guard this information, so there isn't a wikileaks of every American's address to the Taliban?

Wrong form of government. Fas.cism. Think brown shirts and Ges.tap.o. Over the last ten years there has been a chilling effect on the political environment. The right to dissent on issues is more often equated with civil unrest and criminal activity.
As can be seen in the Post article, groups that advocate for human rights issues are "terr.or.ists." Even here, the software censors will purge a comment if the right flag words are used. Like Germany during the 1930s, we are quietly losing our rights, and no one, not our political parties nor nearly all of our press are saying a word about it. The FCC will now allowing the corporations to offer "premiere" service -- for a fee of course, while elections, iffy things with hack.able results, can also be manipulated by lob.by.ists with deep pockets, even if their interests adhere more closely to those external to the US.
Water.gate was not that long ago. Use of technology to maintain power is ever a tempting tool, even if the targets are no more than the "loyal opposition."

Live in fear people; be very, very scared and paranoid.

No longer feel safe, but believe it is for your own safety and national security.

Tell; tell on anyone and everyone you personally find suspicious. Do it, and do it now. Snitch while you are shopping at Walmart; get some innocent citizen on a list; do it today. Get each other in trouble for being "suspicious".

Go ahead, make Hitler proud.

Short time after 9-11. My brother, 747 pilot for govt contract air carrier, had his flight bag (pilot id, mechanics lic w/access to tarmac, drivers license, passport, etc) stolen in front of a hotel in Louisville KY. The local police called the federal authorities w/the information and turned ashen when he was on the phone with them as my brother was watching him. It became all too apparent when they had no zero cause for alarm. The policeman couldn't believe they had no directives. Same brother that was in Kuala Lumpur during 9-11 and told to "stay put" for his safety for over a week.
