'Portlandia': New IFC Comedy An Ode To The 90s (VIDEO)

If the '60s embodied the spirit of revolution and the '70s and '80s carried out those new ideals, the '90s were a period whose central celebratory concern was naps. Or so say Fred Armisen and Carrie Brownstein in this hilarious promo for "Portlandia," their upcoming IFC series that celebrates Portland, OR as a utopian society in which the Clinton years and culture of twentysomethings' perpetually hanging out will never die.

The resurrection of the '90s seems to be a theme for IFC lately, as they recently added three '90s cult comedy shows to their lineup. But this promo for "Portlandia," in which Armisen and Brownstein lead a parade singing an amazing anthem to Portland entitled "The Dream of the '90s is Alive in Portland," makes us simultaneously excited for their new show and nostalgic for yesteryear.

"Portlandia" premieres Jan. 21st at 10:30 EST.
