Air Canada-Sponsored Flash Mob Breaks Into Christmas Carols At Vancouver Airport (VIDEO)

On Saturday, during a particularly slow time at the Vancouver airport, a local band and a dance troupe donned their Christmas finest and broke out into the classic holiday tune, "Santa Claus Is Coming To Town" in the middle of the airport.

The event, sponsored by Air Canada, was meant to spread the holiday spirit on the first heavy day of holiday travel in Vancouver. An Air Canada employee is the lead singer of Abandon Paris, a popular local band who performed during the 2010 Winter Olympics, also held in Vancouver. The dancers were supplied by The Arts Umbrella Dance Company, a preeminent arts organization in Vancouver.

The holiday cheer is immensely different from airports in Europe, which are facing unbelievable cancellations and thousands of angry travelers.

If this doesn't get you in the holiday spirit, nothing will!

To all of the people complaining about it not being a "flash mob", the article doesn't say that it was. It clearly says it was an Air Canada sponsored event -- the title is obviously misleading.

That being said -- it's nice to see something fun at the airport these days!

Oh, Canada! Don't ever change. Whenever I visit Canada, I feel happy and relaxed - like I did in the States back in the 50's.

In all honesty I think this great. Happy Holidays Everybody Come on American Airlines and TWA, our brothers and sisters from the North are makin' us look bad. um -- maybe? depends on which dsl speed you bought. I have 20. dsl from at&t and many things don't stream, but its still only 20.00. It helps i remember it taking all day to download a heavily pixilated 3 minute video, those were the days.
