The New Republic:

With all the hullabaloo surrounding Sharron Angle and Christine O'Donnell and Joe Miller during the midterms, it was easy to lose track of some equally conservative, but less flamboyant, candidates. And it seems safe to say that no Tea Partier had more success while garnering less national attention than Mike Lee.

Whether you "scream" crackpot, or merely "whisper" it, you are still a crackpot.

Now he's in the Senate, where the corporate oligarchs rule the roost. What's the over/under on how long it takes him to "join the club"?

Dems not questioning the fraudulent Alvin Greene nomination for senator in SC and compromised electronic voting machines just shows how spineless, stupid and lost the Democratic party has become in just two years under Obama. If we don't shape up, the repubs will take over again soon.

He not only wants to dismantle the 14th Amendment, but to convene a new constitutional convention made up of corporate lobbyists.

I smell sex scandal all over this guy.

This guy's agenda is topped off with the elimination of the Department of Education. He is sending the same covert message that all of those who would do everything possible to continue the "dumbing down" of America: get learning under control. Not to create a more educated society or ensure that every child has access to the best education possible but to do exactly the reverse. GOP/Tea Party State Governors and GOP controlled legislatures across the nation are rabid about cutting spending. One of their chief targets is the property/school tax system. The facts are that schools do not receive what they need in funding and these budget cutters want to provide even less. While the USA plummets in world ranking in math, science and even livability as a nation elected leaders like Lee are determined to sink us even further. He knows that the very rich who pay for GOP politics will be alright. Their kids attend private schools and universities. He also knows that an educated populace will not put up with the nonsense from him and those like him.

We would love to see another Jim DeMint in the Senate.

I think Ron Johnson who booted Russ Not So Fein-gold could be another one of us too. We may not have taken the Senate in terms of numbers but we are pushing it further right.....

It's a GOP race to the bottom. Who can be the nuttyist?

Writers are among the absolute worst abusers of the word 'conservative.'

There is nowhere to be found one shred of evidence that any member of the Republican Party, including and especially the Tea Party wants to conserve anything about US politics and/or government, beyond each one's personal platform upon which to loudly proclaim their respective radical ignorance.

This would be news if we had a news medium.

It is time we admit we don't.

so, hypothetically, when he gets that provision in the 14th amendment about birthright citizenship removed, how would people become citizens? would that apply to children born to current citizens? just curious, not trying to start something.
