What a wonderful picture of a wonderful family.

Just think for a moment if about when Joe's first wife died.   He was just 29 and had just been elected to the Senate.  He tells the story of him standing beside his son's hospital bedside deciding NOT to take the Senate Oath and let someone else take the seat so that he could concentrate on being a father.

Eventually he was talked into Senate service and eventually got his life back - given to him by the lady called Jill.  That family has been an extraordinary example of service to the public.

Joe Biden - served as a Senator for many years and is now  the VP.

Jill Biden - a College professor - always caring about educating the young.

Beau Biden - Delaware State Attorney and soldier.

And for all these years, Joe has been a 'people' person (always going home at night from DC - never living there) and always being a champion for the railroads and a master at 'foreign policy'.

Thank you Biden family!!

I guess there are always those who can only see the negative.

Stop living with your glass 'half empty' - and start the New Year living with it 'half full'!!

May 2011 be good to your and yours.  : - )

Joe B. is doing a heck of a job as VP. Too bad the pres. did not listen to his advice regarding Afghanistan b/c our young soldiers would be alive today. It took the pres. 3 or 4 months to dither, ponder, ruminate, reflect and for what? To come up with everything that the Generals demanded. He should have given them what they wanted in less than 24 hours. Weak.

Any chance to take a shot at President Obama- he's weak because he takes his time considering all the information regarding the war instead of leading us into an unnecessary one like GWB did. You don't know if he'd made his decision in 24 hours that it would be any different. He's had control of the war for less than two years Bush had control for over 6. Why didn't GWB the Decider do much better. And generals don't DEMAND things from the Commander in Chief they serve at HIS pleasure. The disrespect President Obama and his wife receive amazes me. I can't believe his race is not a factor. Unlike ANY other President in the history of America he inherited TWO wars, a near Depression, a housing disaster and a Republican Congress that vowed to say no to him at EVERY step. In LESS than two years he is suppose to work miracles. He was even called a liar by a member of Congress who should apologize because they are the liars- Death Panels, Government Take over of health care, Mrs. Obama's 200 million dollar trip etc. It's the skin he's in.

Ferrante, Ok, I agree. I am thrilled that the Palin-McCain ticket did not prevail or we would be in a worse hold and my S.Court would be even more to the far right. I detested the little w. guy and his band of cheats, liars, and warmongers. I think the president, for example, could have been more vocal during the 14 month health care 'negotiations'. Start with Single Payer and end up the with Public Option. I don't disrespect the pres. or the First Lady, I just expect more full throated support of causes enhancing the prosperity of American families. The corps need to be reigned in and forced to obey our laws. Are you in the military?

What? And be another 'shoot-from-the-hip Texas strutting peacock President? Nah, that's not his style.

R1, He would never be like the little creep, W. I was just saying that the end product he arrived at was identical to the original request from the Generals. If he had to take months to come to a conclusion, so be it.

Really? The Church that harbored and gave refuge to criminal molesting priests...I'm Catholic and when those in charge start following ALL God's laws, then you can take a shot at Catholics who support women's right to choice...perhaps female priests might be a good idea....

And SO IT SHOULD!!   I guess you have NEVER heard about the 'separation of church and state".   His service has been exemplary, representing ALL people, the religious (ANY religion) and the non-religious alike.   People are people - regardless of their religious views - and ALL of them deserve representation!!
