A serious accident has reportedly landed a stuntman on the set of 'The Hangover 2' in a coma. The Daily Telegraph reports that stunt driver Scott McLean, who in 2007 described himself as close to Australia's top 10 stunt drivers, was involved in an accident on Dec. 17.

that is a shame, how he recovers; you would think with all this technology, it could have been on a computer and not real people involved.

maybe the stunts are getting more dangerous, extreme and edgy? i hope he recovers.

It seems as if there have been a lot of accidents on the sets of some high profile projects.

I don't know if it's being reported more or if I'm just paying attention.

There've been incidents on the sets of Transformers 3, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Spiderman (On Broadway) and now this.

My entertainment enjoyment shouldn't come at the cost of harm being done to those involved in the production.

Agreed. I think people have become so ravenous for spectacle, and producers for profits, that everyone forgets the risk involved. It's not all tech and wires; sometimes people get hurt no matter how much technology is at their disposal. I understand if a director has a "vision" they will attempt at all costs to create it, but art should have its limits, just like any form of entertainment unless your going to put yourself on the line.

I wonder how long this has been going on though. It makes the news now, but in old Hollywood the studios could hush it up. The world is scrutinized 24 hours a day now.
