Snow Storm 2010: Pictures From 'Snowmageddon' (PHOTOS)

First Posted: 12/27/10 05:05 PM ET   Updated: 05/25/11 07:20 PM ET

By now, you've heard of the massive storm that has dumped feet of snow along the east coast.

From North Carolina all the way up to Maine, snow started hitting the ground on Christmas, leading to endless flight cancellations, traffic snarls and thousands of stranded passengers (click here to read our live blog).

Here are some of the most compelling photos we've seen of the blizzard, but there are sure to be more. Send us your photos of your experience during Snowmageddon.

Darn that global warming, We should pass a cap and trade system to prevent it. My cat had a litter of eight kittens. Its obviously the fault of global warming. Cap and trade will fix it.

Great captions. My favorite is: "Leo Picone, of Brunswick, Maine, braves the wintry weather in Brunswick, Maine." Talk about economy of expression!

I love the confused looks of the people. It's snow! Give it a day or two and it'll all melt. Love the pic of the guy X country skiing in Times Square!

It stayed around mostly through Wednesday, but mostly I agree. I grew up in WI and those were snows. Here in NJ, people freak out and stock up milk/water/bread. It's now 50 degrees!

In '96, we had another massive snow, then rain on top of it, which caused massive flodding, which this area is apt to do.

Love the xcountry skier in Times Square and Leo from Maine.

New Yorkers are invincible!

I would rather be in New York City in times of trouble than anywhere else in the world.

But it's not normal here in NYC...being from the midwest originally I am always shocked at how poorly NYC handles snow removal. As if we don't get snow every year...

And THAT'S why I live in California. Thanks for reminding me.

It could snow 2 feet here in the midwest and it would just be considered 'Winter', but every time there is a strom on the east coast it is considered as ongoing newsworthy. It must be a different kind of snow out east, you know, like an 'Important Snow'.

Yep .I lived in Missouri and we had way worse snow than this. I live in colorado now, and these pics were nothing...

"Snowmageddon"?? it's supposed to snow....

Snowmageddon?? I get a kick out of media these days. It always has to be "BIG!" and glitzy and catch-phrase-y. I grew up in SD and we'd have one of these kind of blizzards every couple of years. And the thing about the plains...the wind seldom isn't blowing, so we always had monsterous drifts that often (especially out in the country) would blow peoples doors shut. I remember people having to crawl out windows to get outside and dig their door open again.

My point is, it's a blizzard. They happen. And people dig out from them and life goes on. Quit trying to sensationalize EVERYTHING. Just give us the news. It doesn't have to be a production, it doesn't have to be glitzy, it doesn't have to BIGGER than yesterdays news. This is a Fox News phenomenon, where everything is breaking news and must get better ratings.

Funny is watching Long Islanders trying to maneuver their cars in the smallest dustings of snow... they can't drive in good conditions and they're even worse in bad conditions... Sorry LI, I know 'cause when I left you, I drove the same way...

Sorry, this was not a "small dusting of snow." The main problem is that there has been no snow plowing going on. The City of New York completely failed in its responsibility. Mayor Bloomberg is not running for office anymore so he's not worried about the efficiency of city services any longer.

Not talking about this particular storm, just commenting on their driving ability... Too bad about Bloomberg though. I thought he had it all under control.

Get 'ur milk. Get 'ur bread. You'll never survive being snowed in on a Sunday for 12 hours.
